Re: City of Mountains- Islamabad
no doubt Spock, absolutely stunning. You know they haven't wasted the space they have cleared, I think its coming to good use, good infrastructure befitting a capital city, part and parcel of development I guess.

Re: City of Mountains- Islamabad
and this one, for old time’s sake, Yummy 36 in Jinnah Super ka menu…no they haven’t changed it and i love it!
lots of nostalgia and great childhood memories attached to this place
Yeah but I still miss the old green Islamabad ![]()
Nice to see Yummy 36 still doing good! It was pretty expensive and we’d go like 2-3 times every month but it was worth it! Yummy’s as opposed to Walls etc made real ice cream out of milk.

aww nice pics wonder gurl:D
Yeah but I still miss the old green Islamabad
me too actually, i remember we used to walk from f8/3 to jinnah super, cutting through the green belts and it used to take under 20-30 mins to get there, depending on the pace. now traffic alone would be a nightmare to get through, but i guess change is the need of the times :(
aww nice pics wonder gurl:D
thanks, glad you like them :D
Lovely photos - i have always loved islamabad. I feel lucky that I dont live that far from there when in Pakistan so i can make plenty of visits there. However, each and every trip to Pakistan i always feel I have never done enough within Islamabad.
I really enjoyed the Up to Daman i Koh at night - looks so beautiful with the lights. I managed to visit Khanpur Dam in May 2008 - its really serene. Its quite a popular place in summer. Your pics of Khanpur lake are quite good.
Im against the cutting of trees and always question at what price should development come. In Pakistan people cut trees but plant very little in return. The Margalla Hills behind Islamabad are a national Park and home to so a diverse array of plants and wildlife but it looks like as years go by the hills become browner and browner. The Margalla Hills has the highest number of bird species recorded in one ecological zone in Pakistan.
Islamabad's beauty comes with it's greenness .

I totally understand what you mean! Growing up there was like a privilege! Its like one of those wonderful memories you will always cherish. The only place that still retained some of the green glory from the past is sector E-7, but then again, theres no way anyone can afford to buy a house over there now! lol
Re: City of Mountains- Islamabad
Here is a link to my album here on GS, missy took these this past summer. I dont know how to make them small enough so they dont take too much space. If someone can do that then great.
