Ladies- If a guy says you have chubby cheeks, do you take it as a compliment or do you get offended?
Guys- If you ever told a girl she has chubby cheeks, did you mean it in a good way (like she’s a cutie) or a subtle way of telling her that she isn’t gonna find gold at the bottom of a jar of nutella?
I told a friend she has chubby cheeks and I meant it in a good way but she reckons I’m calling her fat.
I don't really care tbh.
It seems oriental Asians are obsessed with their face though. Did you know there are masks that supposedly make your face smaller?
I was told by a guy friend of mine that I was fatter than my sister, she's like a good 10cm taller than me and has a Japanese build while I think I'm average.
Oh and Japanese don't accept compliments EVER. I swear you compliment them and they will flat out deny to the point of it being rude (by western standards)
I don't understand why they freely give out compliments but never accept them!
CHEEKS! Grabs cheeks, rubs cheeks, pokes cheeks, kisses cheeks CHEEKS! I love girls with chubbeh cheeks and when they smile you can see a lil dimple Rolls... cuteness overload...faints somoene call 911.
Here's the thing, chubby at its best equals cute, at its worst equals fat. Unfortunately, after about 6th grade cute is no longer a compliment when it comes to appearance, it's sounds in the mind of a female, a bit condescending.
You might say, "awww, you're so cute!" and mean it as a compliment. She'll hear you say, "awww, you're so cute, kinda like the little puppy in the petshop window (or worse) like my 8 year old sister."
Oh and the other problem is that women have totally destroyed the meaning of cute in their passive-aggressive subtext-laden verbal wars with other women where cute means anything but cute :D
