Re: Chooriyan le lo !

My Dada’s house had many trees of Bair and my Dadi used to sale those bair to neighbors’ children (besides sending those free of cost to all neighbors in every season). What me and my sister used to do to get bair and sale them to children of neighbor outside home (with some extra quantity compared to Dadi :D).

And Dadi used to ask at the end of the day ’ Pata nahin aaj bache bair lene nahin aae’?

And we used to say ’ Ji Dadi pata nahin kiyun :konfused:

there was this old joke popular in our childhood. A Mamsahib (gori) visit a village in Sindh and they service her with talle hue aalo and chawal ki roti. Gori had all the mirchon wale aaloo and with tears in her eyes said ’ Thanks for the fries, please take your plate’.:bummer:

Re: Chooriyan le lo !

Same joke is prevalent in Deccan with regard to Jawar ki roti, In punjab Jawar is buffaloes food mixed with other things in "Chaara":)

Yeah and chicken even eat wheat too and quite difficult to control:), Pigs get wheat paste and Goat(male) gets potatoes, then most of the time these creatures becomes delicious food in some party in the house or end up in flesh market on good price:D. Now it has been more than one year I ate any type of non veg:(

Re: Chooriyan le lo !

My Dada's family is from Hyderabad Division. My Dadi spent her childhood in a village near Larkana. My Amma's family also belong to Hyderabad Division and my nanihal is near historical towns of Khudaabad and Sehwan.

Re: Chooriyan le lo !

:( Don't you visit your mayka?

I normally think that vegetarian people must have a menu issue compared to those who eat ve and non-veg both. Aaj kia pakae must be a big question?

Re: Chooriyan le lo !

nice! your family is spread all over Sindh :) we would always make an effort to go to sehwan and sachal sermast on the way to our ancestral home.... my family comes from Khairpur district...Ranipur town precisely :)
there is a small village near ranipur like 10 mins drive away. My extended family still lives there, its named after Dada's grandfather I think!
