I don’t think a lot of people care much for it. It’s the wildfires that have been scaring us over the past couple of years.
The only earthquake I have encountered here was the April 2010 one. It was a 7.2 and quite scary. Forgot all about it though 
I feel like you’re risking the chance for a natural calamity no matter what part of the world you live in. There’s no telling.
