Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

So people, what do we like? My favourite is Lindt and then some British stuff. To me, American chocolate tastes overly sweet and greasy, americans must b deprived… :snooty:

Belgian (Guylians praline shells?)
Swiss (Lindt milk chocolate?)
American (Hershey Kisses?)
British (Cadbury’s Roses?)

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

I dont like the generic american chocolate, sickly sweet, all that dang HFCS in it destroys it.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

^ sooooooooooo true! even the kitkat, mars, tobblerone etc tastes worlds apart here (literally) from the ones you find in europe. don't like godiva here either, way over-rated.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

Chocolates from thorntons :@:
Lindt

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

Patchi, Lindt, Godiva, Cadbury's, Galler

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

when i came to US for college i told my college pals about the choco here being lame, they laughed about it and actually were amused that I would even bring or get kitkat from UK, then they tried it. Now I know a bunch of midwesterners who get their chocolates from spaecialty stores because they also prefer the UK Kitkat or Twix over american ones.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

I like my hersheys! :snooty:

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

u probably dont know the taste of ginger either…i.e. adrak

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

Hershey’s suck!!! haha, another excuse for me to exercise an americanism.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

If American's do not even like american chocolate, why don't the producers produce better stuff? How odd.

I think I am now going to make a career out of exporting UK chocolate.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

Hey, what chocolates do people like to receive as gifts???

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

aap adrak bhi pakistan say lay kar aatay hain?

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

RupayHalwa - do they? I grew up up on them and I don't like the taste of european chocolate. I guess my taste palette has adapted.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

european choclates r the best. no matter wat brand as long as they r comng from europe they taste better and chocolate like, not like sum mixture of sugar, butter and more sugar.

and wat r desi chocolates? :S :konfused:

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

2 reasons

1) they are not exposed to other chocolate, I mean u dont got o you local 7-11 and get a british kitkat, u get the local one..so u dont know what the other one tastes like

2) you get used to what u eat.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

good god no, if i were to import adrak it would be from japan anyways.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

I like American, British, and Swiss. My cousin will only eat American chocolates because she thinks they taste better than the foreign ones. To me, I can’t taste a difference. Bring it on, bring it all:)

Halwa,

I envy you. You have easier access to the Macintosh Quality Street chocolates (as well as easy quality access to ethnic cuisine and shopping). Used to love those candies in that round purple tin they came in. Although, I’ve heard that they’re either not being sold anymore or there is a production problem. Is that true?

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

Funny - I don't like the taste of japanese ginger. The smell overpowers the rest of the food.

I have unique taste buds. You are what you eat :)

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

You know what? I used to live in Saudi........and i will say that the kitkat and twix tasted MUCH better over there than it does in the US. And I heard it was because it's imported from UK. Don't know if it's true, never looked into it. And while i enjoy eating twix/kit kat over here....I enjoyed it better there.

Re: Chocolate - British, American, European, Desi???

LINDTTTT.

hersheys!
