China will be the biggest economy because of its growth India because of its population... Double your pouulation and you will be the second biggest double it again and the first. But per capita and on all the other indicators China beats you hands down any time any place so no need to go there.

hehehe charts are based on assumptions.. LOL... that is hilarious ... assume your numbers and become the biggest economy.

Thats the present. I meant the future. The race ain't over yet, China is slowing down, India is revving up. Apply the poulation theory to yourself
if you can find no other way. HA HA

Yaar CH, I read in one article that India is only the South and the West - these two regions accounting for almost everything India should feel proud of - economically and quality of life.. Expect smaller North Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Delhi - North is full of **** like UP and Bihar. East like Bengal is inspired by the great Bangladesh (which is among the world's 7 poorest nations hard competing for a place among hungry African nations) - no work and learn to take the art of laziness to great heights !!! Is that true ?? Somebody said sometimes back on TV Asia here in the US that if u take these two junk states out of India - these two alone accounting for 30% of India's population - India might be better positioned than many LAtin American countries and China included. As for Bangladesh, considering the headache they were for us, the west Pakistanis, we should patch up and air drop of tonnes of condoms to help fellas out !!

Mulz Janaab Happy New Year. I can't understand why the earlier post was removed. Yes we have some very bad politics in Bihar & UP, and better ones in Andhra , Karnataka etc. It really dosen't matter what state you are from as you can live, study & work any where in India.
So you can choose your state. It also highlights good and bad governance very clearly. But being Pols Laloo & Maya will not learn, they just have to be replaced.

Dear Abdy,

There are no Indo-Chinkoo comparisons. India is the undisputed world champ in sending students to US ( mostly techies & mgt types), has the largest number of software engineers any where , produces the largest number of english speaking techies in the world , India has the second largest political caucus in Washington after the Jews, 20% of Softies in Microsoft are Indians after the locals ,the % number is higher for Oracle , 5000 Indians are faculty in US collages, we have sent the highest number of Docs to US & to UK. These guys drive our future & we are not going to turn commies.

Did any one feed those half a billion bhokas or did they dashed on the footpath empty stomach.....

hehehe this is reeeeal mirchi wali thread... LOLz....

PS: for A__B.. yeah there is no indoo-chinko comparision coz u can only compare with yourself....... and compete with yourself......

True, it is derogatory for an Indian for India to be compared with Pakistan. Even a comparison with China is useless because India should not emulate China in the ways that happen there. However, I feel flattered when i know that Chinese are trying to emulate India's rise in IT.

what do you mean china is trying to emulate India in IT? that is just one small area where we are ahead. China is far far ahead in telcom, hardware manufacture and a hundred other things. we cannot take solace about being dominant only in software and IT peripheral to that. we need some serious product innovations in India to maintain the momentum.

and if any good sense remains, pakistan will do the same. otherwise we will both be standing in awe looking at the chinese juggernaut - may be the clothing of the observer from India will have fewers holes than the pakistani counterpart and may be the chinese guy will reward the pakistani observer a cent more.

this thread reminds me of "take one of x's eyes so that y will loose both".

Dear Abdy,

World Bank's figures clearly say what is the per capita GNP of India & Pak. So Size dosen't matter. And of greater interest to you should be their latest report which says Pak is getting worse ( negetive GNP Growth, means still poorer) while India better. General calls it rubbish. You guys are still in a denial state. Your problem. If you are happy, we are happy. India is going for the "Brain of the World" Title, Chinky's "Hands of the World"and both are on the way . Well with whom are you racing sown hill Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal, Botswana, Nigeria, Indonesia, couldn't be Taiwanor Korea....I have given you quite a few choices to my earlier ones Hawaii & Vermont. Get your facts right & then talk. Take Care Dear.

Try telling that to the 500 million Indians that are starving or living the poverty line.

Try telling that to the Muslims of India, thousands of whom have been burnt to death and over a hundred thousand sent to the refugee camps.

Try telling that to the MUSLIM women, who have had their womb violated by the Hindus and their unborn babies ripped apart.

Good Ol' Secular and Democratic India.

Democracies Pay Higher Wages

http://www.freedomhouse.org/research/freeworld/2002/combinedaverage.pdf

: Both are huge developing economies, but with diametrically opposed political systems. India’s low-wage democracy had an annual average manufacturing output of $3,118 per worker from 1990 to 1994, Rodrik found. Its average manufacturing wage: $1,192 a year. By contrast, China, with a similar productivity level of $2,885 per worker, pays its factory labor just $498 a year.

Naaaa u talking too much sense for Indoos to comprehend those half a billion bhokas don't count... And muslims! what muslims......

India’s economy is 800% the size of ours. On a per capita basis, we have a record of spending 500% more on arms imports than does India. Which country is likely to run out of resources first? Just who is most likely to win without firing a shot? There certainly are no prizes for getting these riddles right.
