Re: Chicken pox

Dont scratch when you feel itchy. If need be just gently rub or massage where you feel itchy.Calamine lotion gives you temporary relief.

Re: Chicken pox

If you haven't had chicken pox already then you will most likely get it from your siblings. The only thing for scar is do not scratch it. When I had it as a kid, my mom would put baby powder on it. Nowadays, you can get aloe vera or a good lotion to help with the itching.

Re: Chicken pox

Yeah i heard about calamine lotion. But what about food to eat and avoid?? Besides avoiding salt, chilli and oil?

Re: Chicken pox

How old are you?

Chickenpox infections can have more serious complications if you're an adult. You should probably go and see a doctor as soon as you start getting the rashes, to see in an antiviral drug might help. And if you don't get it from your brother, be sure to go and get vaccinated.

If you do get a full blown case, take a warm bath every few hours...and add several spoonfuls of crushed oatmeal to the bathwater. That will help with the itching. You can also use calamine lotion...or if the itching gets really bad, take some benadryl. Also, be sure to clip your fingernails and wash your hands frequently to ensure that your don't spread infection when you scratch the rashes. You'll also probably want to take some tylenol or motrin/advil for the headaches, body aches and pains. Drink a lot of fluids and rest...let the disease take take its course...

Hope this helps (actually, I hope you don't get it and don't need most of my advice)!!!
