I was talking to a friend who was telling me about an experience she had - on some religious occasion she tried going to a mosque on Devon Street in Chicago, and was suprised to find that it did not allow women in.
I know of such mosques existing in Europe, and I never understood how.
But I did not think such a mosque would even be legal in the US. How have people not taken this to court?
Hm, but they can create them. They collect enough chanda money for mosques to do some reconstruction or use the present wudu area and draw up a curtain or paritition to create two separate bathrooms. That's no excuse.
there is a mosque in gerrard street...which is a paki area of toronto....and they don't have segregated room for women....so men pray first and then women pray..cause they only got 1 washroom for wudu and one prayer room.....they have to pray in shifts.....
Must be some specific religious occasion like a Tablighi Ijtema and ther m ight bot be any place for ladies .. otherwise at the main mosque on Devon, my wife and mom read namaz.

Well why do you not take this noble step first?
What is stopping you?
Take some time out hitting out at MEN then make your case and i am sure you will win and get support from your memon brethren.
Pretty common in Britain. I count on my fingers the number of mosque that allow women in my city of glasgow.
I have been told by friends and family that Chicago is almost as bad as the UK for the Paki community. So not surprised the community is showing symptons of the English disease.
There are plenty of other Pakistani run mosques like this.. if the issue was space like someone had already pointed out they could have men doing wudu first then women. In the old days of Islam men and women actually prayed in the **same **room (like in the Grand Mosque in Mecca), just not side by side.. it used to be men at the front and women behind.. we’ve become a lot stricter in recent times..
When you protest or complain, you should prepare yourself for eggs and sarcastic comments bing thrown at you.
Hareem, take like 5 minutes to think before you type.
This is a despicable comment coming from you. NO ONE deserves the kind of behavior these ladies met with. There is a civilized way of talking, and honestly, I don't know what hadith's and history you read about when it comes to Prophet (SAW) or any other prophet for that matter, because no messenger chosen by God (and these messengers are EXAMPLES of proper human behavior for you) have acted like this. Nor did the Prophet (SAW) bar women from praying in a mosque, and when women DID criticize the Prophet (SAW) in debates, he listened and at times even agreed with them, and changed his mind on different topics based on arguments set forth by the women he communicated with. Yes, he actually communicated with women.
It amazes me how many Pakistanis act like they are some farishtay religious people, and then the way they think is so contrary to the message of Islam.
Is GS giving you some right to not quote you and comment on your comments? That's the purpose of a discussion forum. If you want everyone to listen to your misquided information, and to follow it, please feel free to move to Kandahar or some such place where people are willingly made fools of on a regular basis.
Otherwise, if you pass religious judgements, then be prepared for people to challenge them.

Nothing personal PCG
you know i adore you alot
but when you can (sometimes) act like a "devil" (many would say so about you not my personal opinion) then others can act like they are a "farishta"
