Re: chemical peel__helppp

While many peels come with directions like this…its not necessary to follow this to the T. In my experience, if the skin can handle it…then you can leave it on for longer. The very first time I did a glycolic peel…I think I got upto 6-7 minutes. These days, I can leave 40% Glycolic upto 10 minutes and 55% Lactic (2 layers) for upto 15 minutes.

However, I imagine there are people out there who skin is too senstive to even handle the full 3 minutes the 1st time!

While one should definately be familiar with the directions…I think its also important to listen to the skin and see how your specific skin is reacting to the acid.

Also, once the acid is neutralized…there is nothing wrong with waiting 30 minutes to moisturze. But I have never waited. I apply argan oil right after I wash off the baking soda and gently pat dry the face.
