Re: chemical peel__helppp
You'll find the instructions very clear when you get the products.
So you have rightly decided to start with the weakest one you have bought. As Sanaa said, cleanse your face first and wait about 20mins before using the peel. Even after doing the test patch, they recommend you start with your first peel for only 3 mins long and each time you use it next, increase the time by 1 min until you reach a max of 7 mins. They say to only use it once a week, if you do that, it will be 3 weeks before you can use it for the full 7 mins.
There are instructions for neutralising it as well. You should wait 30 mins after before moisturising and if you can, it's better to use an oil like rosehip or argan to do this.
Once your skin gets used to this one, you can move onto the next product but start the whole process again for it.
If you want to use the 15% glycolic night cream... I would say only do so if you are only doing 1 peel a week. Don't use it one day before and after the peel day. And even then, don't use it every night.. just every other night. Or perhaps just leave it for when you are not doing peels.
I don't think you need anything else.

STA I really don't understand why you get involved in these threads.
Where are the mods.

While many peels come with directions like this.....its not necessary to follow this to the T. In my experience, if the skin can handle it...then you can leave it on for longer. The very first time I did a glycolic peel....I think I got upto 6-7 minutes. These days, I can leave 40% Glycolic upto 10 minutes and 55% Lactic (2 layers) for upto 15 minutes.
However, I imagine there are people out there who skin is too senstive to even handle the full 3 minutes the 1st time!
While one should definately be familiar with the directions....I think its also important to listen to the skin and see how your specific skin is reacting to the acid.
Also, once the acid is neutralized....there is nothing wrong with waiting 30 minutes to moisturze. But I have never waited. I apply argan oil right after I wash off the baking soda and gently pat dry the face.
Re: chemical peel__helppp
I totally agree with what you are saying but with the recent experiences of some members who were careless with the guidelines, it may be better that people adhere to them unless they have some previous experience with this sort of stuff or are 'tuned' into their feeling how their skin is reacting.
Re: chemical peel__helppp
^Agreed.
(LOL…you reminded me of nadz’s peel experience…
)
Re: chemical peel__helppp
So I bought the glycolic 30 % peel from the link Stoppit suggested. Thank you for that.
I've never done any sort of peel before, so this is going to be my first. I have quite a few scars/pigment changes due to the occassional pimples and me not being able to keep my hands away. I'm hoping this will help reduce the scars somewhat, I dont expect a miracle though.
I just have a question though. In another thread I read about "frosting skin" I think that was the term used. And something about skin turning white. Will that be very visible when it happens? And how exactly does it happen? Just like that?
