I recently started to think about this, especially after reading an old thread.
If someone invited you to dinner and just before dipping your roti into the karhai chicken, the host stood up, took a teaspoon and dropped some pig fat into your plate, would you continue to eat it? I know I sure wouldnt, but for some reason I seem to be so non-chalant about buying products that may contain pig fat and stuff.
Ms. Vicki of Frito Lay at 1-800-352-4477 has informed MCG that all Frito Lay cheese seasoning containing products such as **all Doritos and Cheetos **are made with PORK rennet enzyme. We also received e-mails from Br. Salman Sheik, Br Vernon Williams and sister Saadia Idrees, they called the same above 800 number and got the same information.
We are telling our Muslim consumers since 1991 through Halal food books and through our website since 2000 that Doritos and Cheestose are not Halal because they do not have a Halal or Kosher symbol on their package.
Please avoid all cheese seasoning containing products from Frito Lay Company including all cheetose and Doritos.
this isn't pork fat. pork rennet enzyme is like droping a a DROP of something in a pool....
examples used at why it's fine is that if a dog pees in the lake..that doesnt mean the entire lake is haram...it's such a small amount in a huge amount it doesn't make it haram..further the enzyme is processed created from pork and changes chemically...and then is used to create another chemical reactions...
very different from direct pork in a product.
However, a dog using a bathroom on a veggie field is not deliberate. Factories putting pork products in food is deliberate.
I'm going to avoid it either way. Of course there may be many things I eat with such things unknowingly or unwittingly, but now that I know about this I'm gonna avoiddddddd atleast this.
Not to mention, junkfood in general is not good for your health.
i dnt think so... cuz arent u just using tht to heal or watever.. ur not consuming it for the sake of eating.. i maybe wrong .. but it makes life too tough to not use any medicine

Depending on where you live and what your water supply standards are ....what is actually allowed to be consumed as potable water does allow for a certain "parts per million" ratio of things that you probably would hate to know about.

i just spoke to someone in customer service at Frito Lay. they're going to send me a list of their products that DON'T contain pork rennet. i'll post it on here when i get it- should take a week i would think.

no one is going to die without doritos or cheetos and whether one wants to go along eating them or not is their choice. But staying away from them has pretty good reasons.
