Why do girlz want to be cheer leaders?
Isn’t it derogatroy? Why cheering for others when u urself can be athletes?

While I don't agree iwth the concept, cheerleading itsself is a sport. Do you konw the amount of training and strength that goes into it?

It's all about popularity. There are several female athletes, and no one gets accolades by being a cheerleader, anyone can be a cheerleader, o wait they have to be good looking, whereas real sports anyone can be an "athlete."

Er no, i assume in all athletics you have to be physically fit, and umm have the ability to throw a ball.
I dont think athletes really deserve to get paid so damn much, but hey..watever..

i meant no discrimination, u can be fit and not become a cheerleader cuz of looks, whereas other sports it is just about skills.

Btw, i'm just assuming most of this.. In my high school, cheerleading was a sport itself. there were cheering competitions, and since it was a all grlz school, they were cheering for other grlz, i dunno if that makes it any better :p

Moral arguments aside, i wouldn't call cheerleading a sport. A beauty and hence popularity contest, maybe.
A sport is something that does not deny you a chance to excel at it regardless of what aesthetic features you were born with. Cheerleading does not satisfy this requirement, hence not a sport.
