Check out this kurti I received.

Here is a kurti made by a lesser known Pakistani designed named Mediha Asif. I met her at a Pakistani conference in America over the summer. She made this dressy kurti for me based off one of her shalwar kameezes.

Note the daman. I thought it was done very nicely, not taking away from the diamonds.

When I tried it on, I felt like I was covered with diamonds.

The back also has splashes of diamond sprinkles.

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

beautiful tunic, how you post pic here?

nice! how do you order from her? does she have a website? are her prices more reasonable?

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

that is lovely. im assuming u had a better experience iwht her than hajra hayaat... how much did she charge for hte kurta?

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

very pretty, love the colour

She charged me $170 for this one. It's very fine quality material. I ordered from her in person when she was visiting the US. Her email is [email protected].

The experience was wonderful and she's very nice.

I have asked her for more pictures of kurtis or suits which I can convert into kurtis for the cold weather.

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

It is nice but $170 for just a kurti is kind of a lot!

Since I am based in the US and used to paying racked up prices by these Pakistanis, could you please tell me what a more accurate price for this kurti would be? She told me she was using good quality swarovski crystals and the chiffon and satin is all good quality too. The crystals do look very very nice compared to some other cheapo kind I have seen.

I would appreciate these pricing guidelines.

thanks.

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

I wouldve charged $100 for this.

and used cheap fabric???

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

I have to admit, the stones and fabric are very good. I have bought from big designers like Ritu Kumar and Faiza Samee. I don't think the pics are doing justice.

I am feeling under the weather and think I have chills coming on. I have to fight whatever this is because tomorrow is big election in US.

Also, I purchased some kurtis made by Rani Emaans. A US based designer who gets things made in Pakistan. When I feel up to it, I will start a separate thread. Her kurtis were $250=270. AWESOME.

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

i'd love to get something like this but as a suit... but 170 just for a kurta, thats way outa my league.

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

Sara - my mother ordered the full suit. I ordered a kurti based off of the suit. The full suit is beautiful. I think it was $300 for full suit.

I don't know where you are located, but if you email her, she may charge you less if you live in Pakistan.

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

$170 is a good price for this kurti, as long as we don't convert it into rupees :) i think thats why most ppl find it too pricey...right now $170 is around Rs.12,000...

good quality satin & chiffon are not that expensive. the crystals when bought on a wholesale basis are less expensive as well. the kurti is awesome but i think she still overcharged you.

i agree

if it was converted from a dress then price is fine.

i guess price is discretion of designer and label.

its not just the fabric and material costs that a business has to count but others as well, and benefit is consistent quality.

kaam on a dress is nothing but how its done and who has done it is what matters and on this kurti its can be considered as clean.

and materials used are first grade as i see them and they arent that cheap.

$170 for a kurti is a LOT of money! :s

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

^agreed

Re: Check out this kurti I received.

its pretty but $170..WOW..thts a bit toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo mucho!
