ok so I need help. I have a huge amount of weight to lose.. I start and then I give up and end up even more 'moti' then before. I have lost the weight before but this time nothing is budging.. I can workout for lengths at a time and my body just won't accept it.. its like I've hit a wall of bricks and theirs no moving forward. My eating habits aren't that amazing either - I have a gym in my building but as per one of my previous blog-posts the trainer in there scares me away soo much that I don't want to go back there.. I've started zumba, JM at various times but never get past 2-3 days and then something inside me gives up.
This thread is amazing for support, so X-bhai! PLease Help!!
Aight..i will try my best to help ya. I don’t know if you know this but what you described..this is very common. First thing ya gota do is. Eat food in small portions. And eat every two hours. With that said, stay away from Carbs like roti, paratha, rice and oily food. Again i am saying you should shorten the amount of consumption to start with. And then 2nd week or so start eating healthy food. For instance, have couple of slice of whole wheat bread with low fat margerine with green tea for breakfast. Yes green tea..this will help you increase your metabolism. Then for lunch have salad plus some sort of chicken grill sandwich or something like that. And then buy peanuts or corn-nuts in bulk. Try have them whenever you feel slight hungry between big meals. And please make yourself fruit salad instead of eating chocos or any other stuff. May I suggest..you need to change your sleeping routine as well. For instance, wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and keep on the healthy routine i told ya. Reason is because..when you wake up early in the morning your body is ready for energy.
Now your food is basically covered. 2nd step is to say…run on treadmill for may be 5mins to begin with?. And when your heartbeat is faster..do some basic workout. I.e, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxk-57d08RI&feature=related like in this video. Keep this routine for 1 month and make note of your weight every day. Psychologically this weight checking everyday will motivate you on your routine.
And lastly you said there is gym in your building and you are not comfortable with trainers there. Well go to some other gym in your area. There is women only gym as well that you can go as well. And may i mention and suggest strongly..
ok.. got it! The food is my major weak point. I have worked out before, but due to a dislocated knee cap (14 year old injury) and the added weight I've just stayed away from it. I can do the stationary bike or the elliptical with ease.. however I know that the TM burns more calories and gets your heart beating much faster!
Im going to buy corn-nuts and peanuts in bulk next time Im doing grocery shopping..
I have to go away for a mini-trip next week but after coming back I'll stick to this routine and see how much it helps - will update you in the beginning of March! :)
The X-man is getting a cult like following here - and well deserved I might add.
This weekend- we fliiped things around - did the river run Saturday and mountain run Sunday.
Wife did nice job on the run - increased mileage to 6 miles at 12 min 14.5 sec/mile. For mountain run, she walked, and for 1st time after an injury, I slow jogged all the way to top (2500 ft). All in all a nice weekend - and pumped up for nextweek.
This weekend pared back the long run to 5.5 miles - we did it in 65min 26 sec at 11 min 53.2 sec/mile. So good progress. Have to do the mountain jog tomorrow.
Yo J on the rolll eh!. Well i guess i have couple of pounds and i think it is good coz they are my muscles!. 163lbs for 28 years old fella is healthy weight!. I have been doing lots of back workouts this week. Just wanna be consistent!
Proud of the wife. This week we had a 9 mile run (with 1 mile walk as warm up). This was her longest continuous jog distance - prior was 6 miles. We did it in 12 min 35.5 sec per mile - 113 min 20 sec for 9 miles. Tomorrow mountain walk for her jog for me.
Significant improvement from two weeks ago. The wife did a 10-mile training run in 2 hours 28 sec, that is 12.04 min/mile (compared to 12.59 min/mile for a 9-mile run 2 weeks ago). Very proud of her. Nextweek we do a 12-mile run, and then ramp down for the half marathon which is 3 weeks from now.
Hey guyz, why not bump this amazing thread. We all need some motivation so why not record our workout progress whatever it is and motivate each other as well.
Tagging all the previous posters. How is your workout going? Or even if not going, do you plan to resume it? How so? Lets do it together. Or in the words of a idiot, “Make our health great again”
