Observed many Pakistani politicians distributing aid goods and getting photo session. It seems if media refuses to give coverage to their distribution ceremony, they won’t bother to distribute anything.
There was a time (and may be it still continues), when newspaper pages were full of pictures of Mrs Minister or Mrs industrialist giving sewing machine to poor ladies.
Is this with our society that want to publicize charity (in other words they do charity for publicity) or other cultures are also affected with these stunts?
some organization, like shoukat khanum memorial hospital was established for common people.
if you are saying IK does that then this not what he is doing but trying to cash his name for the benefit of poor and less privileged people.
in case of mr industrialist, if he is helping then it should not public matter.

I'm not pointing towards a particular politician. Last day I watched Marvi Memon distributing some goods in flood affected areas and she was literally holding flour bag for a minute and didn't give it to old lady until camera flashed on her for 3-4 times. She then said 'PPP wale to soye hain, aur PMLN wale Sindh ke awam ki madad ko aagae hain'. Just a pathetic attitude to score some points.
Mrs Industrialist did that for timepass and publicity of Mr Industrialist
yes i think in america when they donate a good amount to university...at least they get one hall named after them...........:D
STA bhai may shade more light on my post
ji
But we are discussing the general public attitude, while doing charity.
Big industrialists who are otherwise far away from religious practices do soyam and chaleeswan on big level, not in love for the deceased, but for good name in society

off topic but some western philanthropist are way ahead in charity and donating....buffet,gates,rockfeller
yes...publicity of charity is good if it inspire others for charity
I would agree to this if it was a competition for good, but in Desi societies on one hand people want ' dus duniya 70 aakhirat' and on other hand worldly appreciation (wah wah) for the little they can do

Muqaw bhai you must have heard, sadqa is tarah chupa ke do ke aik hath se do to doosre ko pata na chale,
So IMO Charity too should be giving secretly, regardless of what it is, takay lene ko sharminda na houna pare.
