Specially in Karachi , parents don’t let there teenage kids to participate in outdoors activities as freely as they used to do it in 80s …..

Bike riding bike riding bike riding!

Re: Changing Outdoor Activities in a span of time ...

Sadly it aint a common outdoor activity for Pakistan Girls… its kinda Taboo in our society ..

The one and only lady , I have seen driving a motor bike in Pakistan , was a famous television artist Durdana Butt Angaan Tayraa fame ].. and it was way back in 80s ... on a trip to Lahore

Re: Changing Outdoor Activities in a span of time ...

that's very interesting....

but Aliyish, in late 80's and until mid 90's it was rather worst during those days as well... I remember Curfew being placed even in the common alleys of Mohalla....

I remember a bit of the days of "pole-nighters" when Afghans from Sohrab GoTh became a threat for the Karachi people... you know what I mean by "pole-nighters" right?

Re: Changing Outdoor Activities in a span of time ...

I am afraid I do...

Some how during those days of belligerency .. our nation has observed a schism between our generation and outdoor activities …

For middle class youth , outdoor activities were segregated and restricted to Daboo and Snooker clubs … or gatherings at some friend’s house where ya watch some hindi/English movie and play chess/cards …

And I believe that it had a vanquish effect on people ‘s health … if some day our government will conduct a study .. they may find that the Kids from that particular era are less sporty and healthy then their peers … and sadly the trend is on the rise thesedays

Re: Changing Outdoor Activities in a span of time …
