Even in those days, Pakistan were not distinctively superior to India in batting. Pakistan's successes came mainly because of the bowling - the 2 W's and Saqlain/Mustaq/Akhtar etc.
If they were not superior to Indian batting then how did their batsman managed to score enough runs for their bowling to defend in AWAY test series that won Pak series in Eng, NZ and drew series in SA in 90's?
