(Rated one of the 10 best grounds in the world by Indian legend Kapil Dev, Supersport Park is a 22,000-seater that boasts a wonderful grandstand and superb open grassed embankments. It hosted its first one-day international in December 1992 and its first Test in November 1995, a match in which the great Shaun Pollock made his debut for South Africa against England. Supersport Park has always proved to be an excellent one-day cricket ground, with a wicket that is conducive to free scoring but usually has a little in it for bowlers of all kinds. In Tests, the character is different, providing a fair contest between bat and ball. The ground hosted five World Cup matches in 2003, including two Super Six clashes. The Supersport Park Centurion is a stadium that provides many facilities to the players and fans. It has a lush, green outfield. The ground has large patches of grass that are used as spectator stands and it just adds to the beauty of the ground while giving the spectators an opportunity to enjoy the cricket in a family picnic atmosphere).

NZ have done surprisingly well in CT despite looking weak on paper and despite the injuries. Very few people gave them hope in this tournament but they have beaten three top teams - Sri Lanka, Pakistan and England. Noone can really begrudge them if they win CT now. But as well as NZ have played so far, I highly doubt that they can beat Australia in the Final.
fireballers “What I don’t understand is why would they schedule a match on Monday when almost everybody has to be at work? It would okay if it were a 20/20 match but a full on ODI match on a MONDAY? I can’t imagine there being people committed enough to blow off work to watch Champions Trophy final. It is only easier to follow it on cricinfo. Just how in the world does a major [as per ICC] championship have a final scheduled on Monday is what I really would like to know here? I mean, it isn’t exactly that Cricket is the most popular sport in the world. And by pulling stunts like a Monday final ICC isn’t helping its own case. ‘Monday Final’.. prepostrous. Is it a holiday there tomorrow? And they want to expand Cricket in USA. It won’t happen with bogus planning such as this one. It won’t happen with ODIs and that is 100% certain. In two years, ODI matches will bring nothing but losses.”

**"**well it’s gonna be a one sided game . because NZ lack the quality of players like ORAM / RYDER etc . Australia is no Pakistan (whose batsmen crumbled under pressure on a batting paradise)"
Re: Champions Trophy Final: Australia v New Zealand at Centurion - Oct 5, 2009
Royal chitrol is in progress.
Vettori deserves it. I have never liked him when after losing badly to Pakistan in 20/20 he didnt have the guts to stand up and accept defeat and instead started crying about ball tampering and got a right telling off from eveyone. Serves him right if he gets walloped today.
