Yes it was but it is now immaterial from net RR point of view. When there is risk of rain you would always want to bat first because the D/L method is a bit biased against the team batting second. Pakistan have qualified for the semis.

the best thing for me now would be for Pakistan to win against Australia and WI to win against India :D. Sounds far fetched but Allah is mehrbaan these days.
