Barca deserved to go thru. Chelsea sat back and played boring football today holding that one goal advantage, which could have gone any minute..too bad for them it was the 93rd minute, but thats how you play, you have to be ready to eat your dogfood.

I think Chelsea tactically broke up Barca. They played very compact and killed off all attacks from the start: Chelsea had 10 men behind the ball, but already the second or third person could intercept the ball. As a result Barca did not manage a single shot on goal .... until the final kick.

Although a ManU - Barca final is more attractive, I feel Chelsea are hard done: they had two 100% penalty shouts turned down and missed a couple of good opportunities themselves.

Some even talk about a UEFA conspiracy - via the ref - to ensure that non-english clubs also progress. It wouldn't be good for UEFA to have two all english finals in consecutive years.

If i’m completely honest, Chelsea deserved that slap in the face… they were too concerned with protecting that one goal they scored, and continued playing defensively, rather than playing offensively to secure a victory…

And X2 jee, you can’t support 2 teams… such a glory hunter :snooty:… am i right in saying you DON’T hail from either city area, like all the arsenal/united supporters ?! :hehe:

yeah, completely deserved the slap! I think the Referee deserved a slap in his face for not giving 2 christal clear penalties. First on Malouda, when Alves held him and the second on Drogba by Yaya

I thought it will be a heated discussion here @GS, but that counts only for cricket I guess. Only goals seem to be important, not the way chelsea got the finals robbed off by this ass referee!

seems like Drogba's behaviour after the conclusion of the match is gonna get him in hot water with Uefa.

drogba is a jacque arse and he needs to be in trouble, but I agree thatthe refereeing was pathetic with obvious penalty kicks not given.

why not? being a londoner, I support Arsenal, especially siunce their beginnings were right in my backyard, they went to highbury much later. Support united growing up since that was dads fav team and the official team of our household :slight_smile:

all the united or arsenal supporters do not hail from those cities respectively, there are international fans who have never even set foot in UK let alone be a "local supporter’. You need to understand football a lot better :slight_smile: hell, I was a Milan fan for ages and the first time I set foot in Italy I was 24..

anyways UEFA consipracy or not, over the last couple of years the number of english teams in qurater finals and beyond alone just shows the overall quality of the league

^not only Henry Etoo and Messi, we have Xavi, Pujol, Iniesta, Piquer...I personally think that Xavi is the key to win. Is the brain of the team!
