I know you have met at least one of these ppl in your life
the person who blends in with their surroundings..whether it’s a club/bar with coworkers, or a religious gathering with religious people…they adapt and blend in perfectly.
Do you consider them chameleons, or lacking character, in that they dont’ have a “true” face..and can blend in anywhere? Discuss.
I think its a fear or hesitancy to mingle with people and reveal their true personalities...whatever that may be. Its also a sign of someone not completely comfortable with themselves.
Some people need to blend first and then see where they fit in any social or professional setting.
A person who mingles and mixes with every kind of crowd would be very successful in life. There are very few of us who can do that. Those who lack this talent always envy those who have it. and *papay:

I agree Mirch. I have only seen a handful of people that can blend in any crowd. But these ppl are extemely friendly and open minded and indeed successful. (characteristics of a good leader perhaps?)
Oie hold on I do that. What is wrong with it as long as you are having fun with your friends and not hurtin anybody. Whats with this lack of character bull****. We have characters....mine change depending on the situation I am in :D

But where does one start to mingle so perfectly that they forget thier own personality know what I mean?
As with almost everything else in life; I think its a balancing act.
I agree these people are totally versitile - as long as they don't become someone's yes man.
Blending in is one thing, totally changing one's personality/character is a whole different territory. It is often hard to realise when the said person is being fake and when they are being 'true to themselves'.
Adapting oneself to the social context is good. Overhauling one's character to acheive this would be a no-no in my opinion.

I think there are two types of Chameleonians. There are those who blend in all type of surroundings with every type of people just to make others happy then there are those who mix and mingle with people just to get promoted or just to enjoy the life at its fullest, they're kinda selfish and hypocritical people and sometimes called buttkissers. No one really likes them.
