i had seen many indian movies on CD channels by these cable operators in which they show ISI is currupt and doing bad things in India
why there love for country doesn't arose then and why they havn't stop thoes CDs

Cable operators to move against channels ridiculing army
Office-bearers of the Cable Operators Association of Pakistan (CAP) on Saturday warned that they would take any satellite TV channel off the air if its programmes went against the ‘armed forces, judiciary and the integrity of Pakistan’.
** “We have decided that we’ll not become part of any campaign which goes against the armed forces, judiciary and integrity of Pakistan and will virtually boycott the channels, which indulge in such acts,” Mr Khalid Shaikh, chairman of CAP, said at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club.**
** He said cable operators were receiving threats from certain political parties of attacks on their systems if they did not mend their ways.
When pressed to name the political parties hurling such threats, Khalid Arain, the Vice Chairman of the CAP, reluctantly blamed the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal for it.
Mr Arain said that even subscribers had started complaining about the `propaganda against the armed forces and the judiciary.’**
“After receiving complaints from our subscribers we ourselves watched certain TV programmes and realised that these complaints are correct,” he said.
Mr Shaikh said such programmes had nothing to do with freedom of expression. “In fact the Pakistani TV channels themselves do not believe in freedom of expression.”
** He said the Pakistan Broadcasters’ Association (PBA), which protects interests of all TV channels and championed the cause of freedom of expression, had demanded of the government not to permit any foreign Urdu channel to be shown in the country because it affected PBA members’ businesses.

“Such a demand nullifies the PBA’s stand that it is championing the cause of the freedom of expression and instead negates individual liberties which the PBA is trumpeting now,” Mr Shaikh said.

they hell they can't. I am not paying these cable operators to be Mushy's toadies. Let the market decide. If someone has an objection to the content of a TV channel, there is a mechanism in place to take their grievance. If they r too lazy for that, then change the channel. Let the people decide what they want to see.
Then again, the cable operator union president is Major retired. Why the hell am I not freaking surprised.

**KARACHI: The government has blocked the transmission of the Geo News TV channel across the country due to the reasons best known to them.
The viewers’ calls flooded the Geo office to ask that why the transmission of Geo News TV channel was suddenly suspended when the famous programme, “Meray Mutabik” was going on.
The calls of the viewers were received from various parts of the country. According to Geo News sources the government has blocked the transmission of the Geo News across the country.
Geo transmission was blocked in various parts of Islamabad, Lahore, Hyderabad, Karachi and other areas.
The citizens, social and political circles have condemned the ban on transmission of Geo News and they have demanded of the government to immediately lift ban on the transmission of the Geo News and give complete freedom to media in the country.

if broadcast companies are deemed capable enough to know what needs to be b roadcast and in which manner and what needs to be censored or not, then so are the cable operators.

Just to clarify, I've never said Geo is MQM's or anyone else's mouthpiece. In case ur post was pointed at me. I do believe however, that the 3rd point in ur post is correct.
