Bachpan ki Eid used to be memorable . Now, its just a routine day after Eid namaz.

Yeah we had some fun Eid times too in our childhood, going out for BBQ with family and friends , used to be the highlight of the day ..
But now Eid is more of a quiet affair, max we manage is a Eid milan party :)

Nice answers. Maybe our childhood Eids are more memorable, because it's the adults who are doing all the cooking, bringing over the food and/or giving out the Eidi. However, when we grow up and become adults ourselves, it's usually the other way around. :@: When I think of my own childhood Eids, some things that spring to mind are: praying at the mosque, shalwar kameez and dupattas, as well as mithai and samosas.

Of course there is. I’m born and raised in US and our Eid’s are amazing because we make an effort to make it that way.
My kids enjoy and look forward to Eid as much as any kid in a Muslim country.

Every year their are Chaand raat melas and from my masjid, we have a chaand raat get together for mehndi and such for all the women/girls....
We start off Eid at the masjid for namaz, which is followed by a community naashta there..it's a whole Eid carnival...bouncy houses, pony rides, face painting, goody bags etc. After that we go to my nani's house where the whole khaandan is assembled....we stay for awhile, then go to the inlaws....come back to my family's eid party at night where we do gift exchanges and eidi pass out, as well as some sort of games for the kids.
Aside from that, I have separate Eid parties planned with my friends circle on the weekends following Eid.
