Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

^the plan to incite huge trouble in karachi is well docemented.

this is the moment when pakistan needs the mqm and the mqm has to choose whether they want to take pakistan towards civilwar

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

mqm don't have brains, they follow bhai.
And bhai thinks pakistan is "the biggest mistake in the history"

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

bhai is in a compromised position for such an influential politician. the bait is laid for mqm, although they started to take it, before the information of this plan came to the fore, recently ive not heard anything. inshallah everythings will be alright

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

inshallah

This doesn't look legit. That being said.

I don't get it. Who would put up a banner like that? It could be A.) the Government or B.) Wahabi types.

If the government puts this up, then it means that it wants to stop illegal activities in these markets, as these places are obvious hubs of pirated material. But there is no news officially of this anywhere.

If the Wahabi types have done this, which seems likely, its probably because they want to sodomize everyone in Pakistan with their own brand of "right" islam.

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

^vroom
thats how it starts!

I haven't seen/heard-of such banners outside cinemas, drama/theatres etc... do you think these activities are allowed in "their" version of Islam?

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

^ It certainly isn't. They'd have to start somewhere I'd imagine and CD markets could be a start, as it gives access to a wider audience - much wider then a theater - in their homes.

However, news that only exclusively appears in urdu print online, tends to be a little shady, and untrue. If anyone here can expand on whose behind this and what happened, I'd be interested in a read.

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

Here is the ANP point of view of these banners as reported in the Daily Times. I guess, the pressure on CD markets to close and the banners are very much real. Whether it is Taliban’s pressure or the owner of the market wanting to something else with shops is debataable. The banners seem specific to CD shops business only though. The earilar report and the wording on the banners seem to imply that the shop keepers could remain there and do some other business just not of CDs.

Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan

‘CD markets face no threats’
KARACHI: The Awami National Party (ANP) has claimed that that CD shops in the city were facing no threats. According to a press release by ANP on Friday, the party’s provincial general secretary Muhammad Amin Khattak, Syed Ahmed Khan and Hanfi Advocate visited different CD markets including Madina Market along with traders’ leaders.

“The banners on display at the market were to vacate the wood-made cabins as the owner wanted to make a building there. But it is regrettable that this was being used to raise fears of Talibanisation in the city,” the ANP statement added. The release further said that the business of Pakhtoons were being destroyed in the name of Talibanisation and therefore the Sindh governor, chief minister and home minister should look into the matter and provide security to them.

Exactly, what I was thinking… This definitely has to be something with the trade or legality of the place.

Cause Taliban don’t do ultimatums like these, they do small boom boom, and then big kazoom…

We hope that is the case but if you read the banners CD shop-owners are told to change their business, not to vacate as claimed by ANP.

They do, you perhaps don't follow news as much but CD shop-owners were given flyers/pamphlets on many occasions before their businesses were attacked.

Re: CD Shops in Karachi under threat to close

Altafs trying too hard to prove somehow that the non-existent taliban are trying to take over karachi. Such things please the anti-pakistani powers that keep him in power. Just today on geo he said ‘karachi par bas taliban ka kabza honey walla hai’. :hehe: Even if the taliban had such plans, they would be total idiots to go for the city that is FARTHEST from any other city from their areas. Altaf is just using this to sensationalize himself and his band of thugs, and it will help counter the rising power of the ANP in the region, which actually won a seat in these elections.

Sometimes even the western media, who takes the bait easily, is baffled, for instance when Mustafa Kamaal in his ‘fresh’ angrezi pointed at a mazdoor pashtun and went ‘look at his face, these are all like the extremists’ , and the NPR journalist totally disagreed with him.
