Somebody had given me a copy of this many years ago. Something interesting I find in this is:
"Furthermore, I would like to stress that I did not come into contact with any Muslim before I embraced Islam."
I think he was lucky to only get to Islamic faith on his own. Only if he had met an ordinary follower of Islam or a mullah (Tobah tobah) before being able know anything about Islam, he most probably would have fallen into a trap of never ending doubts if he was doing a right thing to convert to a muslim. That is because common muslims and more specifically MULLAHS, by their words and actions, make believers run away, leave Islam rather than come to it to find the light.

You musn’t forget…The books he came into contact with, are here today because some Mullah put them together…And it was the Mullah who thought of printing it and it was a Mullah who thought of distributing them…
If the propagation of Islam was left to Muslims like us, there would be no propagation…
Cat Stevens got the message of Allah :swt: because a Mullah compiled the literature…
Not Muslims like you or me…
We can’t make ourselves proper Muslims, let alone the non-Muslims…

That's why I usually dont discuss this mullah/non-mullah stuff. You know, there are too many blind followers. And you cant fight with each one of them.

Please listen to this Audio of Mr Green ( a born Christian reverted to Islam ). Just listen to his words and you will understand . And the born Muslims dosent know how lucky they are with this book called Quran -e- sharif. I myself a reverted Muslim feel that we reverted Muslims are more punctual in Praying 5 time Namaz than the born muslims . The reason being we have come to Islam after understanding it. Well I have no intention to hurt anybody but this is just my feeling.

a very generalized comment…
usually the converts r punctual in the beginning because of the enthusiasm, but once prayers and all become routine, the enthusiasm dies out and prayers etc dont remain very much in order…
often u will find reverts after a few years who r no better than name-sake muslims…

the point of my post was that brother i have seen many muslims who were born muslims, and who live as muslims and die as muslims....
i just dont like the idea of "reverts r better muslims than born muslims"....
i think jeffery lang, in his book "even angels ask", has made a good point of this....

Those of us who live in the West in particular though, many of us see first hand reverts to Islam being much better Muslims than the majority amongst the Muslim communities in which we live.

I guess I said before that one who has reverted after understanding Islam, Alhamdolillah will surely not surely neglect prayers as u r saying. Now each and every minute I keep on thinking Y I couln’t understand this basic fact for so many years that How powerful is the creator of this world . Well now this is the time i shoot back , but in Islamic way.Tell me, in Quran Allah says " Maine Jinn aur Insan ko meri Ibadat ke liye paida kiye". Here the whole story completes. when u know the life to come is of thousands and thousands of years in comparsion to what v are living here , Y one will neglect Prayers . After Klaimah this is the Prime condition . It has come numerious times in Quran that live life like a " parejgar" Dont get involved in the Zeenat of this world and yess v have example of Huzoor and numerous examples of and Wali’s .I tell u dear keep reading Quran with understanding and Taqwa will come automatically . Allah ka khauf ho jaye to bas Namaze aur Amaal Apne aap sudhar jayenge.
Now I ask Y the born Muslims do not understand this. Everybody wants to go to US of A or western country to earn lot of money. I had been to US of A and stayed there for 3 months and London too but before I reveted . These western countries never cared for Muslims .The Asians are living second class citizen life there.
Man! I Pray to Allah SWT that he give Hidayat to everybody…Ameen
