Re: caste based murder in chicago
indopak your are preaching to the choir, I dont believe in looking at religions in such a way, believe me I am not trying to look at hinduism by just the caste aspect.
I am trying to only understand the caste aspect as it was meant to be, as it evolved/abused/reformed and as it gets abused now and then as a societal.cultural thing more than a religious thing.
well I did already explain to you what it was supposed to be in the olden times as a way of organizing society and distributing job duties but nobody bothered to edit it as time went by for future generations and you're right in that it did evolve and was abused by a small number of people for their own selfish needs and made it into the curse that it became. There was no chance for a "new testament" kind of thing like how it was in Christianity.
most Hindus use their minds and don't blindly follow every little detail of their faith. In the bigger cities of India like Bombay the caste system isn't so closely followed but the villages are a different story...right my other Indian guppy friends?
I'm more of a`Huddhist (a mixture of a Hindu and Buddhist):Dand take the best from both
