2002 745i will be equipped with a substantially-revised 4.4 litre V8 and a new six-speed automatic transmission. Though it shares the same displacement as its predecessor, the new 4.4 litre V8 features new valve timing (double VANOS), valve lift (Valvetronic), and for the first time, intake tube length, that all adapt continuously. This enables the new engine to set new standards of performance and efficiency. The new 4.4 litre V8 is rated at 333 horsepower (up from 282 horsepower) and develops 450 Nm of torque (European ratings).
BMW’s new new iDrive system involves a reduction in, and reorientation of, driver controls. The elements of immediate importance for driving are located in and around the steering wheel, and a few frequently-used core functions may be found in the centre of the dashboard. Most of the other functions - including navigation, telephone, climate control and entertainment systems - are all controlled through a Controller, and are set in the centre console in concert with the Control Display. iDrive is an attempt to make it easier and safer to operate the myriad of features at the driver’s disposal.

Introduced in 1993, McLaren F1 is, by far, the world’s most expensive supercar and the fastest one as well.
Designed as a Formula 1 for 2 (or even 3) McLaren F1 feautures a 6.0lt. BMW engine that can reach 60mph (97km/h) in 3.1 seconds. The car incorporates many world firsts for a road car: a fully carbon fibre monocoque structure, fully active fan-assisted ground effect aerodynamics, a central driving position with two offset rear passenger seats.
The car’s production has now stopped, after only some more than 100 F1s were built. So you have to try the used car market in order to get your hands on the world’s fastest car…
