Re: Car for Tree Huggers
Seminole, please revise your statistics for crime rates... if getting mugged, paying more for mortgage, food and all amenities is culture in your book, than please go to chicago and enjoy your life....while we in texas enjoy wide open spaces, woods for camping etc .
I can't revise the statistics, that wasn't my best subject in school. So I will leave it to the experts who say the stats between the 2 cities aren't that different, except for theft and burglarly. Evidently there are lots of thiefs in Houston.
I don't expect a Texan to know what culture is. There is more to life than rodeos, nascar and tostadas. There are beautiful rural areas not too far from Chicago and more nice weather days to enjoy them. How many months a year down there is it too hot and sticky to enjoy the outdoors unless you are in the water? 6?
Seminole, do you have any idea how much does that sector contribute to our economy and employment? I always get a chuckle when people just say this stuff just to hate the big corporations.
Does the fact that the energy industry is huge by necessity (because of America's insatiable appetite for consumption) somehow forgive them for milking the American public and government, while sacrificing our security, economy, environment and future? I don't hate big corporations, I hate big industries that damage this country because the politicians are beholden to them.
