Is it hard for you to say no to someone. You end up being bothered and in difficult situation because of this habit.

Yep its a problem for me too, though i have improved a lot but still.
Reminds me of some poet who said, its good that i am not a girl, coz i can't say No.

not at all..my head is halfway in the no motion while someone has even started asking me for a favour.
try it, ask me for something..
OK now let me mix some philosophy.
Nothing is absolute in this world other that Allah. So what if someone does not ask for a personal favor but a favor for others . Like a job for someone , very deserving , money for needy etc ?

well depends in THIS case....
in first case were we willing to say no, just couldnt say it? and is that the same? (saying no according to your will, but against the circumstances)

Mirch, I was kinda joking but what I meant was, if you must say no, be able to say no. It has its drawbacks and you may tick ppl off, but say it tactfully.
we have a habit as a culture to feel bad about saying no, we say okay I will try or let me see what I can do, and ppl live with false expectations. I mean if u are at company A and u say let me see what I can do, I may not pursue other avenues with that company etc.

I am getting better at it now. It's better to say no once than to be frustrated later and wished you had said no. But like I said, I'm working on it.

If you have to say it, say it with conviction… here’s an example. Senator Ted Stevens on Senate floor, when some senators suggested if he will be willing to forego some of the pork he had added to the spending bill, in light of fiscal crises. His reply…

Indians commonly say ’ Jee jee’ while tilting their head sideways…meaning ‘No’.

Im a total pushover and more often than not have a hard time saying no to things no matter how vehemently opposed I may be to doing it. Like someone might ask me to do a favor for them on a day where I already have plans and I end up dropping my own stuff just to accomodate them. HATE being this way… a people pleaser.. but Ive gotten better… still lots of room for improvement though
