How are we suppose to think about Allah Himself exactly?
He has introduced Himself to each one of us through his blessings so think about the blessings of Allah swt in your life. He blessed you with Prophet, guidance, a book, parents, husband, friends, children, health, life......
I read this tip somewhere and it works for me - Simply concentrate on each and every word/verse of namaz recitation and translate it into your own language in your head. This will keep your head occupied enough for you to not ponder over anything else but the meaning of the words you're reciting.
What happens is we're so used to praying that the words come naturally to us and we aren't even thinking about what we're reciting let alone understand the meaning of all that arabic. If your namaz is meaningless to you, how can it be qabul? So pause for like a fraction of a second (that's all it takes) after every verse and think about what you just said.
This happened with me also. According to the Hadith No. 582 in Book “Call to Prayers (Adhaan)” of Sahih Bukhari:
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “When the Adhan is pronounced Satan takes to his heels and passes wind with noise during his flight in order not to hear the Adhan. When the Adhan is completed he comes back and again takes to his heels when the Iqama is pronounced and after its completion he returns again till he whispers into the heart of the person (to divert his attention from his prayer) and makes him remember things which he does not recall to his mind before the prayer and that causes him to forget how much he has prayed.”
So here what we can do as taught by our Prophet Muhammad
Book ‘The Book on Salutations and Greetings (Kitab As-Salam)’ of Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 5463.
Uthman b. Abu al-'As reported that he came to Allah’s Messenger and said**: Allah’s Messenger, the Satan intervenes between me and my prayer and my reciting of the Qur’an and he confounds me. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger said:, That is (the doing of the Satan) who is known as Khinzab, and when you perceive its effect, seek refuge with Allah from it and spit three times to your left. I did that and Allah dispelled that from me**.
Seeking refuge with Almighty Allah I think its means reciting:
“A’oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem.”
(Say:) I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast (then spit to your left). (Do this three times reciting in Arabic.)
thankyou n jazakAllah everyone for such wonderful replies.....
i will try each n every suggestion given so that i can feel that Allah is accepting my ibadah!
learn namaz, the translation and pray during the prostration to Allah that he may free of you all worldy thoughts. It works. Your namaaz is "Kaachi". This is normal. This will get better when you do what I told you. Plus, be PATIENT. Allah is with those who are patient and steadfast. Last but not least, NEVER GIVE UP.
do the namaaz in a corner of the room...make sure there is no activity going on in the room [try to be alone] and before you start doing namaaz, plan the sooras you are going to recite and read the sooras with meaning so you know what you are saying...keep your eyes at the sajda gaah...do NOT let your eyes wander...try not to make unnecessary moves. that might help, inshaa Allah! :)
thankyou everyone!
it is indeed depressing n sad for me that i find it difficult to give just 5mins to Allah's ibadat(properly)....but i am trying my best Alhumdulillah!
and few cents..... when u are ready to say ALLAH u akber for namaz just say Aozu billahe minash shaitan er rajeem loud enouh so that you can hear from your own ears and say LA HAULA WALA QUWATTA ILLA BILLA thrice .. it works for me
repeat the Namaz if your concentration wanders and punish the Satan ;) Don't be sad and don't mention it. A Muslim is never sad, even though the situation may be, but if you pray and BELIEVE that Allah removes your sadness, it will be removed and you will climb up the spiritual ladder and meet your master in your dreams. I promise! Be patient. You need patience. Last but not least, NEVER EVER GIVE UP YOURSELF. If you waste one moment of thinking so, remind yourself that it is the evil who is whispering this to you. Fight the evil :)
Another thing offering namaaz behind Imam is easier than doing Jamaat by yourself. Try to offer prayer as Imam do. What I mean be with atleast one friend/brother/relative of yours and u be Imam and do Jamaat. Let your friend/brother/relative offer with you. This is how you'll concentrate on each and every single thing in Namaaz, i.e. reading loudly Surah Fatiha + A Surah, saying Takbir, how many rakat done/left.
This will let you know how much in deeply you offer your namaaz. Hope this will help u. :)
I started blowing over my left shouder last year and have tried to keep it up and i have to say, it does work. Although sometimes i do forget to blow do enf up getting distracted.
