Re: Canon
NO
key word here is SLR, and when its digital it become DSLR.
Thats what you want,
Re: Canon
now I have to tell you short story.
Re: Canon
Waiting...
Re: Canon
Long time ago ppl invented lenses and stuff. Then the made telescopes.
So many year later some one invented computer + difficult math.
Now SLR camera has actual lens , which help you get more light components and stuff, like a superior eye.
Normal digital camera, on the other hand, take little light components, use computer+ difficult math and try make it look like SLR.
So why not get the real thing.
plus you could change lens on DSLRs.
IF you have DSLR you will look like a girl who actually knows photography.
With normal digital camera, well, just a girl with camera. lol
U know what i mean?
A blanket NO? It depends on what psquared needs.
If you like fidgetting around with photos and adjusting ISO, aperature, etc then consider a entry DSLR like the Rebel XTi . But if you're after simplicity get a cheap point and shoot like the PowerShot SD1000.
The PowerShot SX10 can be considered a pro-sumer product. It sits between DSLRs and P&Ss. I think it's a great camera if you want the flexibility of DSLRs and the convenience of P&Ss. Get it.
Re: Canon
Thank you guys…I dnt know much at all about cameras.
Im going to be doing family pics and photography as a hobby. Im just getting into it now.
My budget is $400…
I looked at the Rebel XTi and the XT…the XT is more expensive than the XTi? How come?
Im really confused here…
Re: Canon

You will never regret!
good Masha Allah congrats on your new purchase but weren't you looking for a camera that would fit in your bag with ease?, if so the you just bought your self a 250 gm DSLR, are you good at photography?, if not then DSLR's aren't the best way to start honestly but if you're an enthusiast then you'll get the hold of it pretty fast.
again congrats on your purchase, how ever when it comes to DSLR's I've always recommended Nikon, the new Nikon D90 is pretty much the best Semi-Professional DSLR in the market today, sorry if i sound like a dick :).
P.S - show us what you can do with that beast!. :D
Lastly sorry again for not being able to reply your P.M on time. :)
Re: Canon
Thank you Ahmed! Its no problem at all! :)
I am an enthusiast but a beginner. I love taking pictures but my current camera is a Sony Cybershot and I want better pictures.
The Nikon D90 is awesome but its a wee bit out of my price range, thats all. I couldnt spend more than $400 max with shipping and all. I got my DSLR above for $343 with shipping and a starter kit. The Nikon D90 was costing me around $900 or so for just the body of it.
As for my bag...well...Im just going to have to get used to it! :)
