The reason is the electricity shortage. Punjab has a chronic electricity problem. So weddings are wound up earlier to save energy and decrease load shedding.
Karachi is relatively much, much better. alhamdulilAllah.
In Karachi, weddings start around nine thirty p.m and end on or before 12:00.
