my family is about to get the canadian nationality but i am against it for some weird reason. my reason is that I don’t want to be defined as a canadian pakistani. i’m happy the way i am with my pakistani nationality on my passport. i get the positive reasons which are you will have security and a chance for a better life with a canadian passport but i don’t feel that way. argh i don’t know how to explain it properly. all i can say is that i want to stay pakistani even though i don’t live in pakistan. i don’t want to be canadian or anything even remotely canadian pakistani. does this make sense?

i wonder why Canadian Government hands out permanent Canadian residency to ruluctant people? btw, you will have to wait 3+1.5 years before you get a canadian passport...so enjoy your green for next 5 years. :) welcome to Toronto! :D

ohhh...so, you guys have been here for a long time...Canadian Passport indeed gives you some perks...like, if your flight gets stranded and lands in a foreign land.

Please beware of desi girls living in Canadian and dont marry them within 4 months of knowing them and please please do not put their name on your account.

If it makes sense to YOU, and you don't want to get a Canadian passport....then don't get it. No one can force you.

Yes, you can. I have both Canadian and Pakistani passports.

i know what u mean exactly. dont worry , you will always be associated with Pak... Canadian citizenship and passport will gv u much lesser prob as compred to a Pakistani passport.
