The army isn’t present in other places because there are no other areas in India where 90% of the population wants independence.

You Indians have NO IDEA what your army did in Kashmir. NO IDEA. Massacring thousands of unarmed protesters is not collateral damage. Setting fire to entire villages and neighborhoods, then opening fire on terrified civilians as they flee their burning homes is not collateral damage. Kidnapping countless civilians and killing them in staged encounters and extrajudicial executions is not collateral damage. Gang raping entire villages is not collateral damage. Those mass graves they’re finding, full of thousands of unidentified remains, are not filled with “collateral damage.”
You people live in complete denial of what your army has done, just parroting the same tired old propaganda about terrorists and Pandits. I have news for you - your army (and the pro-India militant groups they supported) didn’t just kill civilians when they got caught in the crossfire. They have committed war crimes. They have massacred thousands of people. Your attempts to rationalize your government’s crimes by comparing them to bigger war crimes (it’s not a war crime till you’ve killed a couple hundred thousand? is that your logic?), or even more gallingly, by dismissing civilian massacres as “collateral damage” just reflect on your own level of denial.
Why can’t you admit that your army massacred tens of thousands of innocent Kashmiri civilians? Can’t you feel any pain in that? Or were they just expendable “collateral damage” because most of them were Muslim?
In any case, I’ve never denied that hundreds of innocent Pandits were killed. What I have disputed is this Indian delusion that the Pandits were somehow the only casualties of the Kashmir conflict, and the gross exaggeration of their numbers for propaganda purposes by Hindu extremists.
According to government estimates, a total of 219 Pandits were killed by the militants over the past 20 years (source). Even if you double that number, heck even if you triple it, we’re still not talking about “thousands” of people. As I’ve said before, that’s still 219 deaths too many. Then again, in January of 1990 alone, your army massacred over 300 unarmed civillian protesters (source) - but they were mostly Muslim, and therefore expendable according to you Indians I imagine. You people have made it abundantly clear that out of the tens of thousands of people killed over the course of this conflict, those 219 are the only ones that matter.
