Yes. Chagatai is a Mongoloid language and most people with the last name or Surname Chagatai or Chughti/Chugatee are able to relate back to one particular Mongol clan, the house of Chagatai. Chagatai was also the original language of the Mughals. Mughal merely being the Persian pronounced version of Mongol. Naimans were actually a seperate nation and share more characteristics of the Turkic people most of the Modern Naimans still live on the Afghan Pak border regions. Jochids or Jochidee’s are another Mongol Clan and closely related to the Chagatai clan both claim decent from Ghengis Khan. Though the Jochid’s are more widespread outside of South East Asia and particulalry in Turkey, Iran and Central Asia… though they are also present in the Himalya regions.
