you keep on giving excuses to yourself that your relationship was affected by some other cause. Honestly the relationship depends on two people only. You and your better half. What I think and what 90% case is, he is bored with you now and he wont to anything to have you as his wife. Even if his whole family was ready to accept you he wouldnt, even then. If he still had feelings for you, or respected the promises he made, he would've done ANYTHING for you. His brothers, mother father wouldnt even matter. Trust me. So stop giving yourself excuses and stop denying the fact that he is gone and just let him go. This point of his " you dont necessarily marry the one you love" , is utterly bull**** and pure selfishness. My dear one day after he is engaged he'll forget you. So just ignore him and forget him. Better yet kick him out of your life. He is a typical example of a perfect loser..jo mohabbat toh apni marzi se ker sakta hai magar shaadi sirf apni maa jee ki marzi se he karey ga. I pity the mentality of such men. Dont hurt yourself anymore.
and the thing about you talking to HIS mother? Ya Allah ki hogaya hai? uss ne khudi apni maa jee ko kaha hoga k aap usko reject kerdien takay mere uper koi ilzaam na aye.
I feel much better and strong. Praying has been helping me as I am gradually getting inner satisfaction. I want to put Allah's love on the top in my heart. If I stick to the practice, I will end up being rationally strong. Thank you so much for guiding me everyone. Thanks to Allah for being on my side.

i think some ppl on this site r very insensitive! there are sum guys for genuine family reasons cannot get married - for Gods sake how abt when an elder member of the family threatens suicide n stuff - u cant back away from that - its lyk sum ppl here dont understand whats it lyk to live in a Pakistani household.

His neyaat was buri - remember buray log cannot appreciate goodness and act lyk that - its embedded in their behaviourism and its how they have been taught to be.
