Can you rank the castes from highest to lowest

Trying to understand which is higher than which. From what I know there is: Punjab, Kashmiri, Rajput, Pathan, Arain, not sure if Jat, chowdary and sheikh are also considered castes or not

Your time would be better spent not indulging in the discriminatory nonsense. Being of a certain caste does not define a person's status or how successful they can or can't be in life.

Yes. Regardless of Caste or sects such as Sunni, Shia, Ahmadi, or sexual orientation - we are all equal under the eyes of God.

The castes are Butt, Rajput, Jatt, Arain, Choudhry, Sheikh.... there's prob more but i can't think of any. One thing they all have in common: they don't mean sh*t.

I think they exist so that Punjabis can do "juggat" when they gather. There's loads of jokes abt each one. Butt rajde nai, thak jande ne (cos they eat a lot). Also apparantly, they're meant to be extremely good-looking but dumb as rocks. Rajput are meant to be cowards... idk... there's loads. They're senseless.

Harijans are the best. Then Sudars, then Vaisyas, then Kshatriyas. Brahimins belong to the lowest caste.

Let's cut the OP some slack because there is nothing in his original post that suggests that he practices the caste system. It's not like he said that he will only marry or befriend those within his caste. With such little info, we can't assume that he endorses the system. He could be asking just out of curiosity. It's common knowledge among non-Desis that Brahmins are at the top of the Indian caste hierarchy. It's like a general knowledge that was gained through curiosity or learned/taught etc etc.

I agree with redvelvet, trying to understand it doesn't mean he/she practices it. We could have answered her question and then added why it's an evil system and shouldn't be followed.

Would you be equally understanding if OP asked to rank people in US according to color of their skin?

Thank you. yes I do not practice it, I simply want to know because - despite the fact everyone on here says it is BS (which I expected) it still always seems to play a huge relevance when it comes to other pakistani families and especially marriage. I hear pakistanis say it all the time 'caste doesn't matter, caste doesn't matter' but as soon as the subject of marriage begins the first thing they all say is 'find someone of the same caste, which caste is he/she' so we can all pretend that it doesn't matter but if it doesn't why is it always being brought up. And I simply want to know why and understand it.

So... can anyone put it in order?

There is nothing wrong with talking about castes. You can do it all day.

Ranking people according to their castes, is racist, bigoted and discriminatory. Just like ranking people according to their skin color, or language, or ethnicity.

If you ask a person from caste A, he/she will consider caste A to be better than caste B.

There is no fixed hierarchy.

We don't rank. ALL of us accept the following:

ALL castes are equal.
ALL faiths are equal.
ALL human beings are equal - religious, agnostic, atheist
Within each religion , ALL sects are equal.
Sexual orientation ranking - we don't have time for that. ALL of us accept ranking based on this is evil.

We just don't discuss these topics here.
