and what are they basing their view on. Quran or Sunnah? I am interested in finding out how they can declare it without a shadow of doubt that is is not allowed.

There is no harm in eating food prepared by anyone unless it does not contain pig meat or wine!

Allah, the most merciful, compassionate and peaceful, also forbids muslims from befriending kaffirs. Huh, but he doesn't say anything about sharing their food...so go ahead!!

salam...all I know is that food which has been blessed in the name of idols is haram. that applies whether the food is vegetarian or meat. It is the fact that it is offered in the name of a false god.

Allah S.W.A tells us "I shall not worship that which you worship, nor shall you worship that which I worship, unto you your religion and unto me mine."
Surely if this is proof of anything it is proof of diversity and tolerance. We are supposed to respect every persons right to do as their heart dictates. Allah knows all and is the giver of guidance and light to whom He wills. We can only pray that we are not amongst those who have been diverted from the right, straight path...InshAllah

you offered your moulvi’s statement as a proof. I cant accept some moulvi’s statement as fact, he needs to back it up with proof. Seems like you or your moulvi are unwilling or unable to present that proof

this is what happens when you mix cuisine and religion. I propose just like the “church vs state” principle we keep a “food vs religion” principle.
salt, sugar, spice, grains et al - good in a recipe
religion - not good in a recipe

OK Mr or Ms Pathania, just to bring your Bheja up to speed, I have lived with Hindu roomates and eaten food prepared by Sikh, but when Hindu friends come up to you saying you should drink urine on daily basis to live long, then MY Bhaija Kinda Threw UP…
When Educated Hindu’s grow up in this Modern society and still practice the drinking of their own Urine on daily basis, plus sprinkling that Amrit Dhara(Cows Urine) ON their daily breakfast.
You go EAT THEIR PURIFIED FOOD.

hey i dont care who cooks what I am eating as long as the person cooking knows what I can and can not eat or do and do not eat and respects that, thats about it. This is not an issue of tolerance but of dietary needs. kosher food gets blessed and sealed and all that, I dont see much hoopla about tolerance and what nots there. It is simply not an issue of tolerance.

Allah is always right, you must follow him. Keep distance from kaffirs and their acts like using internet,computers,TVs, Videos, cars, buses, tooth paste, tooth brush, papper money and everything that their darkened minds have created in darkness of kaffirdom.

i dont think its a matter of bigotry, its just a dietary law. it could be for hygiene reasons, as people have said, a certain proportion of Indians do put urine in food. it could also just be to instill a sense of seperateness and identity.
by the way this thread when viewed from the main page shows as "Can we eat Hindus". It would give a bad impression for a first time visitor.
