All I can say is that I have lived in India all my life and know more about India than someone who is visiting for a few days. You are free to believe what you like, but its far from the truth.

If you've lived in India all your life, do yourself a favor and learn to accept the various problems India is facing instead of deluding yourself into thinking that India is going to be one of the top players in the world. Sure it has potential but if you keep ignoring 50% of the country comprising of the poor, you can't make any giant leaps towards progress. Learn to accept the facts for what they are. No one is saying Pakistan is better than India...far from it. Pakistan is in a much bigger mess. But please stop thinking that the 'youth' of India will take over. You can't do that if 50% of the country is living in poverty!

Don't know about others but I know the weak & strong points of India pretty well. And thats precisely why I think India will never overtake China (guess in your hurry to diss India you forgot to read my post). And you have conveniently not responded to any of the facts that I stated.

Oh please, I am not confused. Yes I identify myself as a Pakistani because my parents are from there but I have no attachment towards a country that I have only visited twice in my lifetime. Being from a country and having no attachment towards it are two different things. Maybe you're the confused one! :)
Why is it so difficult for people to understand that India has more strain on its resources than China, and thats not an easy obstacle to overcome. The fact that we are even close to the Chinese or being perceived as competition means that India is utilizing its resources more efficiently than China is. However, unless we control the population explosion we will not be able to sustain at this level of growth for long.
Pakistan got part of the the land alongwith the associated natural resources, people, buildings plus a substantial amount of money which was in pre-partition India's banks. India got the other part. I would not call that starting from scratch. Other than the name Pakistan, nothing strated from scratch.

I am glad you realized that after 97 posts. Now pls take a look at your posts, and see how many of them are actually on topic.
^ They are right on topic! The topic was about India and China and some people foolishly claimed that India will take over China and is going to be a great economy blah blah blah. I just wanted to set the record straight and say that India isn't taking over China for AT LEAST the next 50 years. And the more you Indians ignore your problems, the longer it will take to make a mark in the international arena. So better get on lowering the poverty rate, increasing literacy and eliminating that horrible caste system!!! Chop Chop.
