But bro...not everything from Allah will make sense...but at the end of the day Allah knows best...Allah doesnt give a reason for all his rules...and we dont follow his rules for the reasons we follow his rules because at the end of the day they are Allahs rules...
so just because on occasions we cant find logic with something...i always have this problem...doesnt mean that we dont accept the rule...
If there is evidence for the ruling then we should accept it as a ruling...
We shouldnt create our own Islam...as Allah has much stronger thinking than any of us do...
So in terms of the tattoo...if there is evidence where Allah says the tattoo is haram...then we should accept that as his ruling...if there is any dispute it should only be if you feel the evidence is incorrect not because it doesnt work with your mindset...
In my mindset there is no problem with a tattoo...and i dont know why Allah forbids it...All i know is that he does forbid it...

I still dont understand why Allah be so bothered with tattoos and the fact that someone shaved his pubes a certain length. I can understand as a guideline something along the lines of Do/DontDo. I am sure Allahs got better things to do than monitor personal hygiene and decorative rituals.
We do break rules and thats down to ones own weakness...
Im not talking about breaking rules...im talking about on what basis we regard something to be a rule in the 1st place...
I for one feel rationally there is no problem with having some alcohol...nothing wrong with a bit of wine or champagne...or a pint during the game...rationally it makes sense to me to ban absinth and say a triple aftershock...but the fact is...its all haram and thats from text...thats the basis...not our ration...thats what i meant by we shouldnt create our own religion...we shouldnt drink because of the risk of getting drunk or becuase we fear damage to our liver...it should simply be because Allah says so...
So to be honest...it makes no sense to me either as to why Allah would forbid a tattoo...all im saying is that in the same way we judge alcohol...we should judge this...and that is if the text says something then me and you have no right to question it based on our own thinking...the only way we should question an islamic opinion is with another islamic opinion...
sorry naughty but your example with alcohol is not valid...also in small quantities it can hurt health...tatoos too...just don't hurt yourself on purpose...that is basically the right path

The point was referring to the fact that regardless of what seems rationally correct to us...Allah knows best so we should accept a ruling from Islam even if it deosnt make sense to us...and the only way to dispute a ruling is through islamic evidence of your own rather than through ration...otherwise we would all believe in a different islam...

Animals act on instinct...Human beings have reason and choice...so they have choices between right and wrong...what we define as right and wrong comes from our creator...i am fallible and have no ability to decide what is correct and what isnt for mankind...God is infallible and acts as our guidance...
Blindly following is listening without questioning...i dont listen without questioning...except my basis for acceptance is different to yours...if my mum says do something and Allah says something else...then Allah is correct...my basis for acceptance is the Quran and Hadeeth...your basis for acceptance is what fits with your own desires...which is up to you...i said shahadah because i believe Islam to be correct and if there is evidence from Allah about something i dont question it...my basis is evidence so its not blind following...just a different criterion...
With all due respect to Mr Bombastic...his reasons were based on his own thinking as Allah from my knowledge hasnt given any specific reason for the prohibition...he just says its prohibited...and as a Muslim if theres evidence then you are required to accept it...
For instance some Muslims say we dont eat pork because the pig is dirty...thats nonsense...Allah just prohibits eating it...theres no clear reason...so if suddenly the pig was proclaimed to the world cleanest animal...can Muslims eat it?...no cos Allah has prohibited it...pure and simple...
So to conclude my point...for a Muslim if there is evidence then he should accept...this isnt blind becuase he sought evidence...Allah doesnt state a reason for everything but you do as your told cos when you take shahahadah its on the condition that you accept Allahs rulings...even if they dont fit in with our own mind state...Allah knows best...
