Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Growing Population, Increasing unemployment,Increasing gap between rich and poor, Rich are getting richer poor are left behind, Rising Food Prices (Inflation). No Electricity, Water. Traffic Problems, Pollution Problems, Rising Medical costs. Would 1.2 billion people rise against the Indian government.

Given that the grievances of the common man are similar throughout the developing world, jobs, wages and the cost of living, some have mused whether Tahrir Square may something in Mumbai. Could massive public protests sweep India? Is India ripe for revolution?

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Yes, if the Indians gain enough strength by eating meat and not depending on daal and sabzi. All of India needs to protest against Narinder Singh Modee.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

We don't need to do that, we can simply elect another government at the next elections.

You may now say that people may get impatient with waiting for the tenure of the elected government to end, and might therefore revolt, however the Indian system is such that elections either at the city level, or state level or Federal level are scheduled frequently and scattered almost every other year, so the ruling party has to remain on its toes throughout. Nobody wants to loose an election at any level.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Half of India is already under terrorist maoist wrath - They run their own govt. and Delhi don’t want to start an even bigger civil war to take em head on.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

I do not foresee a Tunisian/Egyption style revolution happening in India or Pakistan. It's true that in both South Asian countries, the poverty level is high; the prices of basic commodities are extremely high and getting to a point where even middle class familes are stuggling. But fortunately, we have democracies in our countries. Hence, we can have early elections, but no Middle-East like revolutions.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Pakistan definitely needs this, but unfortunately in Pakistan there is no Muslim Brotherhood like party to fill the power vaccum, just mangy dogs.

Democracy in Pakistan lol

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

^^^In Pakistan we have a strong judiciary; vibrant media; last elections held were for most part fair and free. What we have in Pakistan is bad governance; though still democratically elected.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Maybe there's democracy in whatever cushy part of the city you live in, but for your average Pakistani doing the vai, he has to deal with electric shortages, non existant healthcare and bad education the vibrant judiciary and media are doing **** all for him.

If he gets together with a bunch of other farm labourers and small landowners and makes his own party or gets someone to represent people like him, he would have the votes of 90% of Pakistanis in a similar situation to him. Oh wait, he'd be dead in the blink of an eye because he'd also refuse US dog biscuits.

Democracy in Pakistan lol

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

As I forementioned, we have bad governance in Pakistan(shortage of electricity, abominable healthcare, substandard education system) all falls in that category. But believe it or not, we have way more freedom to express our humble opinions than some of the richest Middle Eastern countries. And it is b/c of democracy that the ISI/IB are being forced to produce where the missing persons are; no where in Pakistani history anyone has witnessed that. It is b/c of our vibrant media that corruptions cases are brought to our living rooms and CJ of Pakistan takes a sou moto. Riko Diq is a prime example of it. Yes, we have a weak democracy, but it's a government elected by people(for the most part).

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

I think a comparrison between Egypt revolution and India is ludicrous.

Whilst it would be a novel thing it wont happen becuase unlike Pakistan, India is prospering from relative security.

As a Pakistani it is shamefull to look upon our nations current state. We must look to ourselves for such a revolution. :jhanda:

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Didn’t know the grievances were so acute as to usher in a revolution… Seems unlikely.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

yeah right! When half of Bharat sleeps on the streets hungry, Sikhs/Christians and Muslims are massacred in thousands almost daily, Shudras and Daleets can’t sit with Brahmans in schools or restaurants, poor widows are forced to die as Sattis, I am not sure what prosperity or security are you referring to? Please explain… My relatives moved from Amritsar in E. Punjab and some of them visited their ancestral village Abdul Kalan near Amritsar and I have myself heard horror stories of living in India- that the roads are broken in India, there is no electricity, kids run naked on the streets because they are hungry, women walk without covering their face shamelessly. There is no culture and minds of the people are populated because of constant and loud music. We should thank Allah(SWT) for Pakistan and long live Saudi-Pak brotherhood.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Egyptians are fighting a dictator who has been there for 30 years & for personal freedoms and human dignity. What would Indians be fighting for, especially, since India is already a democracy and changing of a govt is in hands of its people?

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

If India is a democracy, why are they not accepting democratic aspirations of people of Kashmir and the 36 provinces(like Tamil Nadu, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland....etc) where armed independence movements are currently going on? why not free all these provinces as per what the people want there?

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Do Indians have an American installed dictator ruling for 30 years?

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

Because it is not...

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

No, it cannot because its impossible to unite and organize Indians into a mass uprising like what we are seeing in Egypt.

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

So many are escaping India as illegal aliens

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

are you retarded?? being a democracy doesnt mean u have to listen to every tom, dick, and harry and make small independent countries.. if the same applies to our country, then we'll atleast have 6 or 7 different countries made out of pakistan just coz some ppl want it.. kashmir however is an exception in my opinion.. they deserve a choice..

Re: Can Egypt like situation happen in India

All these secessionist movements are the genuine voice of the common people against Brahman terrorism. Except sick bihari states like UP, MP Rajastan and Bihar, every other states wants freedom from India. The situation in the Punjab, Assam, all NE states and Tamil Nadu is beyond control. In the south, the hyderabadi muslims are demanding Telingana state. In Pakistan there is no movement going on. Baluchistan is a RAW design.
