Can American (Gora’s) Girls or Guys pull of our desi wedding attire or its a complete disaster ?
Whats your opinion ?
I have seen many Gora’s (girls or guys) getting married to desi’s. And most of them have a desi wedding. According to me most of the goras who wears desi dress looks ridiculous.It is because may be they are not aware of our fashion. Well there are some exceptions few of them do look good. What do you guys think?

It really depends. I think a lot of non-Pakistani brides aren’t very good at picking out tasteful Pakistani clothes and jewelry because they’re just not familiar with it at all, and as a result, don’t look as nice as they could have. I also suspect that some MIL’s aren’t very happy when their sons bring home white bahus, and this is reflected in the quality of the bridal outfits and jewelry that they give. That said, if they manage to get the right clothes and jewelry (and many do), I think they can definitely pull off the look.

Mostly they on't an its because blon hair and very light skin does not gel well with red or shocking pink brials with tons of kaam and traitional jewelry. A more contemporary look with light colors does wonders an eg being the bride posted above. I think the fact that she is darker than the average Western European helps.
Agree with Janab e Ali's comment about either the clothes that are picked out for them are hideous because MIL is being mean, or simply the gori girls themselves don't know what to pick out.
The other thing is - if the amount of makeup such as base, foundation is limited then they'lle look even more beautiful - do not under any circumstances take the bride to a Pakistani/Indian/Lankan/Fijian makeup artist if your abroad, coz they're used to using colours to suit darker/tanner people - and the goris are already white - and they'lle just look even more white and un natural./
Otherwise, desi wedding attire would def look good .. Look at bride and prejudice and the goris in that =)
i think this girl looks gorgeous in desi attire! i think its entirely possible for a gori girl to pull off desi clothes but she has to be comfortable in them and a lot of times it seems like the dulha waley brought her clothes and threw her into them without considering her skin colour at all. i’ve seen some really awkwards looks.
a lehenga is very similar to a gora wedding gown and so long as they control the jewellery, i think they can look very pretty!
similarly for a desi girl, if you wear a white dress, don’t throw on a huge set, teeka and jhoomar- the beauty in a white dress comes from the minimalist look.

My friend's wife wore all of her desi clothes really well. She loved to dress up in them and she carried them nicely. And her saas had everything made by designers too. She looked great. I think the colors and style need to be adapted for the girl (for desi girls too) in order to look right.
