I just discovered recently that MAN and Woman can never be friends!
On Facebook - I got a request for friendship from an high school colleague. I happily added. I just "knew" him back in high school - we were not even friends.
On valentines day I get a message saying "happy valentines day to you"
I did not think much at all and replied right back the next day - "belated, but happy valentines day to you too. Hope you enjoyed it."
He replied back saying, "I would have definitely enjoyed it if you had sent me any chocolates, flowers and a kiss"
haaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww! I was shocked.
So I think a man and a woman can never be just friends.

I gave you MY personal opinion on man and woman.
but seriously, I think ONLY if a man or a woman is interested in one and other - do they even REACH OUT for friendship "alone".
By that I mean people who are individual friends as opposed to "group" friends. "Group" friends - means boys/girls gather up and are friends - that's different than "being friends "alone".

NJMasti - Yea I got it. I must say you haven't had any good experiences when it comes to having friends from the opposite sex. And, I hope you dont mind me saying, your thinking that they have to be interested in one another to reach out for friendship could be a part of the reason why.
Now this is based on my interpretation of 'being interested', and that is physical attraction i.e. they would want to sleep with each other. Perhaps you meant it in a different way.
Based on my experience, like I said earlier, I have had several very good female friends and never had any uncomfortable situations.
all these boys these days … they use friendship as the start to a possible relationship !!! 
I have had a few incidents where some guy showed his interest in me and when i refused his interest, I could bet a million pounds over what his next line was gonna be : well can we not just be good friends … 
Yikes .. that always puts me off friendship as well .. its so evident … the hidden agenda

Rozen - that is a case of bad intentions. If I want to sleep with a girl, my offer for friendship will definitely be less-than-sincere.
Does not apply in all cases and does not disprove the fact that men and women can be friends.

yeah I must admit i do have some male friends .. but both sides we try to maintain alot of personal space and distance … so we never get into personal discussions … just very general chit chat .. but still .. these friendships are like time bombs … who knows his wife may not like it , my hubby may not like it … it can turn nasty anytime !
