…even though you call yourself one, do you think it is still being racist? For my generation it is thrown about ALL THE TIME and it has become the norm for pakistani people to call other pakistanis ‘pakis’ as a way of laughing about with their friends or saying it in a ‘friendly’ way?
Do you use this term? (you don’t have to say if you don’t want to!) Is this acceptable to you? Do you think people need to stop using it, or that the meaning has changed over the years?
(and yes I was watching that Ch4 documentary about Bradford)
See I've heard two opinions of it. One is that by Pakistanis using the term themselves, they're somehow 'reclaiming' the insulting term used about them by non-Pakistanis and using it in a more positive way.
The other view is that even if you don't use it in an offensive way, it's still making the word okay to use, and undermines the whole race to make it a silly gimmick or something.

more like the word niggers that if a black guy uses for himself - its ok. If someone else does that. its derogatory.
I will be completly honest that I found out Paki is offensive through GS. Many people (Pakistani's) I know use this term .......and I'm pretty sure no one thinks its offensive or derogatory, its just a shortened term.......on the other hand many non-Pakistani's don't even know the short term: i.e. Paki
I can understand that it might be a big deal in the UK but honestly not here (US-west coast)
I don't like the word at all. I guess it depends how it is said. I have said it a few times out of frustration. However, I would most definitely not say it as a norm. It's the TP that usually use it. Bradford is a city that should be "cleaned" up. Seriously, majority of the people from here whether Indian, Pakistani or white I find to be narrow minded...
But I'm pretty sure I heard some retard shouting "Bin Laden" at me the other day. Now that is what offended me. I may have moochein but I'm nowhere near as hairy as Bin Laden. Vat bakwas? -_-
^ I suggest replacement of the ni___ word with just the n word. I know no offence was intended, but just does not seem kosher to have to look at that word spelled out. Just my opinion. Thanks.
just noticed post 9 also used the n word. So same request repeated.
Wonder why words such as sh_t are auto deleted, but not the n word.
