Paying taxes does not define a religious person, and I ask? How holy is it to make one pay to be accepted into a community?
Is it holy? Or greed?
it is not community.. it is political structure and system of islam... and paying to the islamic government... one of many several ways of islamic economical structure to run a state... afterall, Islam demands no separation of 'govt. and church'... :)

Gadha, vakai.
I'm talking about rights. They're both paying money that is being circulated in some manner in the country. Call it zakat or tax or whatever, money is also coming out of the muslim's pocket.
At any rate, how can you expect to live in a country and not expect to pay a tax? If there's such a country, let me know about it!
I'm talking about human rights and things like that...like one can't be discriminated against ....for example, a university in an Islamic state would not have any right to reject a student because they're jewish or christian.

Where in the world does this "ideal" Islam occur today? Nigeria? Iran? Afghanistan? What group of people are righteous enough to have this almighty power to rule in the name of God? It seems to me that the most active Islamists (the ones who would be closest to implementing Islamic rule) are uneducated, intolerant and unable to rule their way out of a paper sack.

True, Seminole this "ideal" islam does not occur today. But the fault does not lie with Islam rather with the people who have been entrusted with the responsibly of running our nations.
