Hmmm actually Cadet College Kohat is better.
Allah Hu Akbar
I think Hasanabdal is even better :)
What I did was that I skipped the whole 7th class to prepare for the entry exam, this was to make sure I get in .. some 15 years back :) now the competition is even more tough. Let the kid study on his own for a while and make sure you make him available all the related books/general knowledge etc books . prepare him exta well for the interview. they ask questions like subtract 13 from 69. do it and see how well he does. if you really want him there, all the effort that he and you will put in is little.
i have a track record that i did excellent without any tutor in my entire academic career (FSc Gold Medalist) .. BUT .. my father got me a tutor for the Cedit Colg. exam and I think he did it right! I would recemmond the same. When choosin a tutor, ask his track history. find out how many of his students got accepted last year? and the year before that.
Its a good decicion. Just make sure he gets in! They will make him an Officer!
Good Luck.
Azkar
ps: no.. i did not go to CC inspite of acceptance (cuz of some family troubles).
in my opinion the paf college in sargodha is better then all of the cadet colleges.
i have heard dat hassan abdal is loosing its value bcauz it was given autonomy(spellings plz
http://www.pak.org/gupshup/frown.gif
) a few yrs back.
i think paf college is better then all of them. this paf college is not like other paf colleges in other cities.
its the most difficult one to get admission then all other cadet colleges.

nick yeah PAF Sargodha rulez! It's excellent.
Azkar these days Cadet College Kohat is alot better than Hasan Abdal :)
yup hassan abdal has lost all its charm.
i think cadet college in jhelum is also a good choice.
but paf college is best of the best
:) You guys may be right. I may be giving out info which is about 10-15 years old. thanx for your input. I hope the gentleman can make an educated decision.
Azkar
All this talk reminded me of my run for admission at Cadet College Pitaro (hope i spelled it right) I wanted to go into the army and prepared whole heartedly in 6th grade. But unfortunately, I didn't have the proper domicile, hence I had to wait for a year. With all this said and done, we moved to US and now I sit and watch Alpha Bravo Charlie. :)Go Army!
I want to ask you guys something. Since the bribery and corruption is rampant in Pakistan, how much of it is actually present in the admission process? Or is the process purely on merit?
ghalib it's purely on merit :)
My own brother studies in Fazl-e-Haq cadet college Mardan :)
Salaam,
Pakistan Steel Cadet College is the best. But heard great things about the Hasan Abdal one too. I try to see if I can get some information.
Allah Nigeh baan
Hasan Abdal still kicks ass!
Sargodha, Pataro, Jehlum, and the rest are just that, the rest.
Hasan Abdal is the best…well other then the problem with lice…hehe… unfortunately my mom heard from her friend that kids get lice there or something…and I wasn’t allowed to go there…heres a link it might help… http://www.ccha.edu.pk/

I offer my head for inspection Bhaijaan. Throughout my lifetime it has been free of lice.
And since we are making mass assumptions, that should absolve all Abdalians of this horrendous charge.

It's based on many things. Including ethnicity, which often cancels out merit.

Please do not spew mindless crap.
There is no criterion such as ethnicity for admission in these colleges. We had Karachiites in our college as well as some Pathans.
The criteria for selection do differ somewhat from college to college. For example, Hasan Abdal's entry tests are perhaps the toughest academically but their medical is fairly lenient. PAF Sargodha is very particular as far the medical is concerned. But that is about it. If you have a sifarish, there are special seats available just for that very purpose.
But there are no marks for being from a particular area in Pakistan.

Live in dream world if you like. Obviously there are no 'marks' for being from a particular area. It is done unofficially.
Pretend it doesn't exist if you like, its up to you, and makes no difference to me. I have no reason to lie.
i think one of my cousin's in hassan abdal ....

That's neat. Cadet College Hassanabdal got my votes in terms of excellence. If you pass their academics entry test, most of the time you get in, and there was never an issue of quotas based on one's ethnicity. I attended Presentation Convent, Hassanabdal; a neat and secluded place to study.
hayyyyyyy now wait a second....
whos says kohat n jhelum n all these others r even close to hasanabdal???
heheh we dont even call them cadet colleges... they r just colleges,,,, or schools,,,
wen u say Cadet college.... ur talking, changing ur dress 6 times a day,,, following a strict routine which is tough both physically as well as mentally or shud i say academically.
CCH might not be wat it used to be,,, but theres still no comparison.
theres only one Cadet College in Pakistan,, and that is in HasanAbdal,,, these others r just colleges cashing in on the names,
as far as Military College Jhelum is concerned,,, their main aim is to prepare boys for the pakistan army,,, so if ur planning on making ur son an army officer, send him to CCH ,,,, OR MCJ. if u want him to be a gentleman with great grooming discipline and training along with excellent academics... nothing beats CCH. and for PAF college sargodha,,, they are alright,, i mean the college has a nice environment, but then again,,, their main aim is to prepare boys for the PAF,,,, so for overall excellence,, nothing beats CCH.
and kohat?? hehehe please.... at least think b4 u speak,,, u guys can probably compare urself with cadet college petaro or that steel mill cadet college somewhere in sind,,, or i dunno,, with some other college in kohat,,, leave CCH out of it.
and please,,, theres no such issue as the ethnicity wen getting admission,,,
wowzzz,,, azkar bhai,,, didnt know u were an almost abdalian. :)
