Re: Bye Bye PPP...
Clowns is too nice a word for them. I'd have to ban myself if I used the most appropriate term for Zardari & Co.
yes, and you would have to ban me too...maybe we should allow some "nice" words just for Zardari :@:

the pipeline = pipe dream, i digress but time will tell :)
Re: Bye Bye PPP…
yet some of them have the gall to say
**PPP to emerge victorious on basis of performance: Kaira
**PPP to emerge victorious on basis of performance: Kaira | Pakistan | DAWN.COM
unethical to use ‘PPP’ & ‘Performance’ in the same sentence
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
^ I hear you brother! But our nation's electoral wisdom (or lack of it) cannot be underestimated! :)
I hope we rise above biradri-ism, ethnic differences, and our eternal laziness to ACTUALLY vote for the best candidate this time around. Nation has a chance to vote the ruling elite out.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
Unfortunately, pakistanis are about to choose a bigger evil i.e. nawaz sharif and we will be having the same discussion 5 years later
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
^ the international establishment which wanted benazir in 2008 wants Nawaz sharif now, after all he is a tested man. If pmln comes to power don't expect many changes in the economic as well as foreign policy domains.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
There is no such word as success during these last five years. The greatest achievement was the record breaking corruption. What do you expect when you have Raja rental as your PM and the biggest crook as your president. Failures:
If you go in to details, hardly anything new phenomenon which can be attributed to this government. I agree that it could not control rampant corruption, do you think others are angels only Satan were grabbing money. Right from generals, to CJ, to courts, to different offices, educational institutions, private entities you name any who was not involved. This cancer is not going to anywhere unless people realize that they are raping their own country. Do you think IK or N$ has balls to tackle this problem? Unless people do not change their life style, this corruption will remain there whether it is IK, N$ or any one.

If Nawaz does come to power I don't see him surviving 5 years like PPP. He is far too egoistic & vengeful and will take panga with the military, judiciary or even his coalition partners (I don't see any party winning outright majority) somewhere down the line .... so a mid-term election is a very likely scenario
NS is not politically smart or aqalmand like Zardari (evil genius)
They are immensely corrupt for sure but the one thing I have always liked about PPP is that, despite the temptation, they never went after people who had wronged them in the past (credit where it is due)
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
The PPP government would end tonight, and I dont think many would miss it. The damage done to the party by Zardari would take a long time to heal.
Lets discuss the successes and failures of the government.
I think even zardari bhutto shaheed will not be able to undo the damage done to PPP's public image

Sad truth for jiyalas, anyhow RIP PPP.

First it was pakistani establishment that was blamed for everything, now its international establishment? Stop blaming others for foolishness of our own people. Give zardari 20 more years and this jaahil qom will still vote for someone like him

Who facilitated the deal between Benazir and Musharraf? Who helped Nawaz Sharif flee the country?
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
The sufferings of the nation come to a temporary halt as the consequences of balloting mistakes done on 18th February 2008 finally expire tonight.
Are you implying that ballots caused suffering? I guess that means if there were no elections in 2008 and generals were still calling the shots there would have been no suffering. Btw, look at it this way...now people can end theri suffering with ballots. That is how democracy works.
Funny thing is that how impatient people are, and instead of celebrating this milestone in nation's history where no govt ever completed its term they only see glass half empty. Just a reminder....when Mushy left there were dozen of suicide bombers were going off every week & and most of NE was under Taliban control. Has govt solve every problem? No. Is corruption an issue? Yes. Was corruption an issue before this PPP govt? You bet.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
The govt has completed its term but to call it mature and setting any decent precedent is a joke. Hope the next govt acts as a govt of Pakistan and develops the institutions instead of just one institution that of corruption. This govt and all of its ministers and president are a blot on the name of PPP. This was not the govt of the ideals for which PPP was created it was a govt of opportunists led by the corrupt president and his 1000 chors.
Good riddance.
EB, now people can make pick good people by throwing out incompetent choors as you put it. Btw, institutional development takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day. You live in the UK...they have been practicing democracy since Magna Carta. So, don't lose a faith in collective judgment of the people b/c I'd rather go with people's judgment over generals and their notion of "supreme national interest".
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
Jaan chuti pakistan ki. now lets see whos next.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
The only good thing about the previous regime was that it has completed its tenure and did a lot of law making, otherwise a bad nightmare which many people would love to forget...
Re: Bye Bye PPP…
Yeah they dissapointed on all fronts.. Thats quite an accomplishment, very few govts in the world can boast of being such robust failures all across the board .. ![]()
