The PPP government would end tonight, and I dont think many would miss it. The damage done to the party by Zardari would take a long time to heal.
Lets discuss the successes and failures of the government.

^^^ I think govt has done well both in setting precedent for future & how a mature democracy should function. Give them at least that much credit.

The notification was issued by the Law Minster on the directions of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
^ There's no doubt about it. They have done a lot of work in law making, 18th, 19th and 20th amendments, some changes in the FCR, Balochistan Package, creation of Gilgit Baltistan Province, completing their tenure and moving towards peaceful transfer of power. There have been issues in governance which has increased the problems of the common person. At times the government felt to be indifferent, insensitive (and incompetent) to the plight of the people.

I'd be interested in reading about those successes. Not being sarcastic.
Re: Bye Bye PPP…
Kaghzi karwai, only.
Paperwork, and nothing but. In terms of real world performance, you will not find a single improvement in the country, on any front, that was due to the virtue of this government - that is, if you want to call this a government in the first place.
Goodbye PPP, indeed, and good riddance. Just don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
So who is the caretaker PM?
Re: Bye Bye PPP…
We’ll let you know after doing some essential politics on this front.
All political parties (read PPP and PML-N) still have a few chess moves left to decide on a caretaker setup, and you know the deal with chess moves, it takes a while. It’s moment like this that these wee devils live for. It’s moments like these that these wolves make their moves, before they go into their corrupt hibernation for another 5 years.
I just hope we do get a caretaker PM, soon, preferably, so the wheel of time can keep on running.

and hopefully your next govt. is something that you will choose wisely, as to what is best for Pakistan and not just what is good for your own personal gains…coz it is always easy to get what you selfishly want when you have a corrupt govt. and don’t care if the rest of the country goes to hell…
Re: Bye Bye PPP…
The sufferings of the nation come to a temporary halt as the consequences of balloting mistakes done on 18th February 2008 finally expire tonight. The next general elections will show if we learnt from the mistakes we did some five years ago or is voting still a non-serious business for people. It is fine if the lessons were learnt, but if we did not mature as a voter, than the next government will pick from where this government is leaving the affairs of the country. Best of luck to Pakistan :k:
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
There is no such word as success during these last five years. The greatest achievement was the record breaking corruption. What do you expect when you have Raja rental as your PM and the biggest crook as your president. Failures:
Re: Bye Bye PPP…
The govt has completed its term but to call it mature and setting any decent precedent is a joke. Hope the next govt acts as a govt of Pakistan and develops the institutions instead of just one institution that of corruption. This govt and all of its ministers and president are a blot on the name of PPP. This was not the govt of the ideals for which PPP was created it was a govt of opportunists led by the corrupt president and his 1000 chors.
Good riddance.
Re: Bye Bye PPP...
Hats off to Civil Society, Media, Judiciary and more importantly Army for finishing a 5 year tenure of an elected government. This government tried to be political martyrs many times but no one fulfilled their wishes.
If surviving is the name of democracy then yeah government did well despite numerous suicide attempts.

Re: Bye Bye PPP...
Clowns is too nice a word for them. I'd have to ban myself if I used the most appropriate term for Zardari & Co.
