****DERA ISMAIL KHAN: According to unconfirmed results, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate is in the lead in the by-elections for PK-68 Dera Ismail Khan, Express Newsreported.
PTI’s Ehtesham Javed Akbar reportedly secured 37,178 votes, while his opponent, Makhdom Mureed Kazim Shah, an independent candidate, secured 32,640 votes.
In general elections 2013, PTI candidate Humayun Khan had secure just 1,613 votes.
The voting started at 8am and continued till 5pm. With a total of 127,617 voters registered in the constituency, 108 polling stations were set up. Thirty-one of these stations were declared “highly sensitive” while 29 have been declared “sensitive”.
The winner, in all likelihood, will either be a landlord or a candidate with the backing of the constituency’s influential families. There are 13 candidates vying for the Paharpur seat, but the by-election is likely to be a two-horse race between Shah and PTI’s Akbar.

PTI should not participate in elections until its demands are met, or need to step down from current demands IMHO. As long as they are part of assemblies their voice is not going to be effective while they do dharna on roads. Either their MNAs/MPAs should be doing something about it in assemblies or everyone of them quit assemblies to prove their point that they don't trust current election system/officials.

Just imagine:

IK should not be taken seriously because he has men in Assemblies. PTI should resign from Assemblies (should have no men in Assemblies) than claim that Assemblies is illegal because it is product of rigging and violates constitution. Being in Assembly they should not say that they do not trust present election system and officials conduction election.

TUQ should not be taken seriously because he has no men in Assemblies. Since PAT has no member in Assemblies, they have no right to claim that Assemblies is illegal because it is product of rigging and violation of constitution. Not being in Assembly they should not say that they do not trust present election system and official conduction election.

I think, coming out against corrupt election system that exists in Pakistan, PTI has increased its popularity throughout Pakistan. Excessive TV exposure during dharna must have made PTI reach a large section of population, and send them message what PTI wants to send, effectively.

Speeches of TUQ are very convincing and portrays people's inner voices and brings out real problems that most people in Pakistan are facing and problems that exists in Pakistani political system, plus TUQ has also exposed badly most other political parties and known political personalities in parliament, making them lose any credibility if they ever had. Most middle-class and almost all lower middle-class and lower class section of Pakistani population must be deeply getting effected by speeches of TUQ.

SS using police force to kill PAT workers and supporters must have given TUQ a lot of sympathy and also must have made his demands justified in the eyes of people. TUQ speeches, and murdering of TUQ men on 17 June by Shahbaz Shareef using police, must have made Shareef brothers devil reincarnated and PMLN a party of demons in the eyes of many Pakistanis.

Imran standing with TUQ must have attracted many people to the party (as well as their future votes).

Imran own speeches attacking parties and personalities in assembly is also effective, and most must be finding him truthful and genuine. This must be further making him popular and demonising parties and personalities who Imran is openly attacking.

Many Pakistanis bombarded by Imran and TUQ speeches, must be seeing those parties and their leaderships as corrupt and exploiting demons standing with corrupt and Liar person as Prime Minister (NS), and standing for corrupt electoral system and illegal assembly to safeguard their own corruption and exploitation

Hence, boost in Imran and PTI popularity is obvious. In any free and fair election (that I do not think is too far), it is possible that Imran would take huge majority in parliament and would form federal government as well as government in Punjab and KPK.

Although I do not agree with the way how the dharna has been carried out but this is also a reality that he has had a lot of time to court the public like Saleem mentioned above.

[/urdu][RIGHT]ڈیرہ اسماعیل خان کی صوبائی سیٹ پر ضمنی انتخاب میں احتشام جاوید کی کامیابی پر پی ٹی آئی چھ زیادہ ھی اِترانے لگے ھیں،اس سیٹ سے ۲ بار احتشام کے والد مسلم لیگ نواز کے ٹکٹ پر اور ۲بارآزاد امیدوار کے طور پر جیتے ھیں ۲۰۰۲ میں گریجویٹ نہ ھونے کی بنا پر کسی مدرسے سے جعلی سند لر کر الیکشن لڑا اور ناکام ھوگئے،۲۰۰۸ میں احتشام نے اپنے والد کی سیٹ پر الیکشن لڑااور شکست سے دوچار ھوئے ،مئی ۲۰۱۳ کے الیکشن میں چونکہ گریجویشن کی شرط نہیں تھی اسلئے احتشام کے والد جاوید اکبر ایک بار پھر آزاد امیدوار کے طور پر میدان میں آئے اور جے یو آئی کے تعاون سے اپنی سابقہ سیٹ جیت لی، مگر ان کے حریف امیدوار مرید کاظم شاہ نے پہلے ھی ان کیخلاف پہلے سے ھی جعلی ڈگری کیس دائر کرایا تھا ،وہ ان کے خلاف دوبارہ عدالت میں گئے اورطویل جدوجہد کے بعد بالآخر جاوید اکبر خان کو نااھل قرار دلوا ھی دیا،لیکن اب ایک بار پھرجاوید اکبرخان کے بیٹے احتشا م جاوید ان کے حریف امیدوار کے طور پر سامنے آئے،جاوید اکبر خان کی یہ سوچ تھی کہ اپوزیشن میں محض ایم پی اے کے طور پہ میں اپنے حلقے میں ترقیاتی کاموں یا عوامی بہبود کے حواے سے کوئی کارنامہ انجام نہیں دے سکتا اسلئے ضمنی الیکشن آزاد امیدوار کے طور پر لڑنے کی بجائے انہوں نے اپنے بیٹے کیلئے پی ٹی آئی سے ٹکٹ کا مطالبہ کیا ، گوکہ ان کی کا میابی کسی حد تک یقینی تھی مگر حکومتی پارٹی کا ٹکٹ اپنے اور حلقے کے مفاد کی خاطر حاصل کیا،اوربالآخر وہ کامیاب بھی ھوگئے،،،،،،،،،،،واضح رھے کہ مئی ۲۰۱۳ کے الیکشن میں اس حلقے سے آزا امیدوار کے طور پہ جاوید اکبر خان نے 41112،مرید کاظم شاہ نے 31001اور پی ٹی آئی کے امیدوار محمدھمایوں خان نے 1605سولہ سو پانچ ووٹ حاصل کئے تھے ، اس سے اندازہ لگالیں کہ پی ٹی آئی کو اس حلقے میں کتنی عوامی حمایت حاصل ھے اور جاوید اکبر کے ذاتی ووٹ کتنے ھیں،اسلئے پی ٹی آئی مطمئن رھے جاوید اکبر خان آئندہ بھی ھوا کا رخ دیکھ کر ھی اسی طرف پرواز کریں گے جہاں اس کو فائدہ نظر آئے گا،،،،،یہ سیٹ نہ پہلے پی ٹی آئی کی تھی اور نہ اب ھے، یہاں ان کے صرف 1605ووٹ ھیں اور بس،،،،زیادہ اِترانے کی ضرورت نہی

Obviously had PTI lost the bi-election it would have b/c of system being rigged, but since PTI won the system was fair (same EC that conducted elections last year). This is the same logic they had for last years elections. They won in KPK b/c system was fair, but lost elections in Punjab b/c the system was rigged. You can't blame PTI/IK for consistency.

This is the way to go instead of forcing someone to resign.

Imran will still be victorious if he make sure that rest of the 5 items in his wish lists are guaranteed to be take care of specially free and fair elections. He should give up on the resignation of PM.

You are probably talking about a fiction? I don't think anybody has suggested that IK be not taken seriously, he needed to be taken seriously but government failed. The protest should've been about rigging and investigation, but if IK insists that the elections were rigged and does not believe in the "cheater PM" and that elections were rigged then he must resign from assemblies to prove his point.

TuQ should not be taken seriously, I concur :p ... he didn't participate in elections so what is he crying about?

Position of TUQ is same what it would be if Imran resigns from rigged parliament. Or ... position of TUQ is same as what it was of Imran before May 2013 election.

TUQ contested election but after 2002 election realised that Pakistani electoral system is stinking and full of corruption, so no person can contest in Pakistani election if that person do not want to rig, do not use gundas, is not willing to kill opponents, and do not throw money to buy voters and bureaucrats who supervise election ... so, since then he and his party (PAT) is boycotting meaningless election of Pakistan.

Imran also believes what TUQ believed, but still had hope. Imran boycotted the election since 2002 (like TUQ he also boycotted election in 2008), but misread Corrupt thug Judge Iftikhar, did not realised that Iftikhar is characterless corrupt on payroll of Nawaz, and thus Imran contested election May 2013 instead of fighting against the system on roads.

Now Imran has also realised that his trusting Corrupt Thug Judge Iftikhar was not only wrong but stupidity and big mistake, as Iftikhar and other paid servants of Thug Nawaz massively rigged the election to get Thug Nawaz in power. That is why, after realising the facts, Imran wants to get last massively rigged election defunct and new free, fair and fool-proof election throughout Pakistan ... what Imran knows he cannot achieve from within Parliament, so he is on road with TUQ.

So, what is difference between TUQ and Imran, that you think one should be taken seriously and other should not be taken seriously?
