Whenever I pass by big houses of Defense (Posh Area), I found most of the houses surrounded by peculiar silence. It seems that either no one lives there or there is no interaction between the people who live in such big houses.
On the contrast, small houses / flats in the areas like Laalu Khet, Garden, Kharadar area seem alive and full of life.
Do people work hard to buy loneliness in their lives?
^ in large houses there could be a silence of its own. But having lived most of my life in middle class areas with a lot of hustle bustle, I know prefer to live in quieter areas (newly developed societies in Lahore).

Living in newly developed areas like Gulshan e Maimaar (Karachi) doesn't give that sense of Sannata created by no-interaction. People in these areas interact with each other, which is either absent or minimal in case of posh areas like Defense.

Maybe you are right, with mega houses sometimes people living there need to contact each other through phones to locate them.
Its basically a trade off between complete sanata and chaos on the other side. I personally believe after a hard day at work, when one comes back to home, it should be somewhere which is peaceful. No honks of cars, rickshaws and wagons!
yes it is highly congest area, with Kamla nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi University around, it has more Civil Service aspirants than DU students :D along with more than 1000 coaching institutions :D

Do you think andron e shehr Lahore, living in streets, will pose someone with chaos of traffic noise
^ i have never lived there, and I can never live there. There's too much noise, and air pollution there. I have been living in Allama Iqbal Town, which has been developed in the 80's but with the passage of time its getting more and more congested. New societies are now propping up near the canal and all the way towards Raiwind which are very well built and developed. There are a little bit far but very peaceful and safe.
Civil service is number one government post in India and is populated mostly by UPwallahs and Biharis, they get recruited in numbers every year. Majority of Landlords in our area are Punjabis and tenents are Biharis, for many family renting is the sole bussiness
Hostel is the best can one live in or defense cantonment during festivals espcially Holi, deepawali and Air force day etc were zabardast there

here in Pakistan, we say that Islamabad don't have its population. Some people say that the city is vacated on Eid, etc when the civil and governmnet servants left the city to celebrate such occasions in their home towns. I think Delhi in contrast a different story

Islamabad has changed as well over the years, many people now consider it to be their city and stay back on Eid days.

Delhi has sister city gurgaon and noida, so people who work there go out during deepawali but delhi has many local residents and it gets back to half of its original population :) Muslims are less in India and Muslim festival hardly removes any population in delhi :)

Islamabad also got twin city Rawal-Pindi and there is sizeable workforce which come from Pindi
